I liked Bully. I didn't like Until You as much, but it was ok. Then the final book I put down. I plan on maybe going back. But I peeked ahead and there was a certain scene with a race that I was all, that is a bit cheesy and OTT.
I really liked Bully and I have very low tolerance for HS characters. (I didnt love Until You though)
See... Different Strokes for different folks. I just loved having Jared's POV....which is such a switch from my normal, IDK LOL
Grey--I did read Until You AND Rival, just never rated them, so thank you for reminding me! I loved both of them! I'm pretty sure I never read Falling Away, and I'm positive I never read Aflame (I didn't even know it existed!) So I will be reading both of those ASAP! Aflame is definitely my kind of book!
I'm just excited I liked Bully since my picky self seems to not love the group's faves. *whispers very quietly*
I didn't like The Sweet Gum Tree
*goes in corner to wallow in book guilt*

Ooooh why didn' you like TSGT? Totally curious because I wouldn't have guessed that.

Wow! Wolfsong, The Gravity of Us AND NOW TSGT? Who are you? Are you fake Leslie?
Ela, I know! I am smacking myself for you. Well, Wolfsong was a dnf cause of PNR not being my thing, The Gravity of Us wasnt a "hate", I just didnt love it.
As far as Sweet Gum Tree (view spoiler)
For TSGT, I think if the setting had been different, it wouldn't have worked for me but considering it was the deep south (IDK the time period, anyone know?) it did. (view spoiler)
I've got your back Leslie. We are a 72% match for the books we've both read and rated. You normally rate a star below me because I should but don't reserve my five star rating. Most of the favorite ones ones you say you tried but didn't like, I won't even attempt. I know they're not to my taste.Of course, only when it comes to CR!!! LOL
I know you don't read PNR.
It can be hard sometimes when others dislike a book that you love but love a book you dislike, lol.
btw, bev, I finished Ari and Dante! And for someone who wouldn't ordinarily consider reading such a 'young' YA type book, I really enjoyed it. I thought the end was a little rushed and maybe a tad bit 'wrap it up in a bow', but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of it as a whole. And you're right, the narration was awesome! Thanks again for loaning it to me! Oh, and I looked to see if there was a way for me to 'return' it, but it's just in my audible library with no 'return' option. Do you know if I need to do anything??
Nope, its yours. That's just how it works for a first share. I still have mine too. And could give out more of that book also. Kinda cool right?
After that I get confused, in that I think you need an audible account to accept more. If you can accept more. Im not sure.
So, this was the first fiction audible book ive finished and I thought Lin Manuel Miranda was great, but I had nothing to compare his narration to. Since you listen to so many I was really curious if you thought the same.
I could hear the laughter, sadness, and anger in his voice with out it being OTT.
I loved the parents. Im glad they were not the usual horrible ones you find in books. I love the little scene when Ari wonders why his mom loved his dad and she says because he was beautiful with no hesitation. You know she meant more than physical but that too. And his dad when Ari had the flu.

See, everyone is all let it go, bev. Then here is Fabi and Ela......lol.
Oh you know I lurve you bev! I'm just kidding because I love how heated and passionate you get about that book! *whispers* I'm more sad about Leslie not liking Wolfsong, even my non PNR friends really liked it!
*taps fingers on desk* I could finish up my newsletter if I knew what book I was reading... 🤔Just kidding Fabi! I can wait!
That sounds great Robin. You wanna do the draw and post the results? ;-) I don't want to hold up the newsletter.
They're working now Grey. GR must have made some changes a few weeks ago because they started working. Or maybe they always did? idkI can type them in directly from my phone's keypad.
😀😎😄😇

Well, how cool that I get to keep it! I completely agree that he was a great narrator. He made enough changes in his voice so that you could tell who was speaking and he didn't try to unnaturally sound female. And like you said, he put just enough emotion in his voice. For this type of book, he was perfect!
Have fun, Robin!!

*lifts corner of blankie fort and invites Leslie in to hide with me and manny* Come along, my sweet little Leslie. We will hide in book guilt and shame together.
Leslie wrote: "Thanks Jan! I'll bring drinks & chocolate."Sounds good. I've got a cocktail glass here with your name on it.
*giggle* how far did you get, Jan? so I can update the April post, it's no big deal, silly...no hiding in the blankie fort, unless, of course, you want to!
My favorite musical as well!! Have fun Robin and thanks for the info. Here is my list: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Very excited to see all the picks :)
Grey wrote: "*giggle* how far did you get, Jan? so I can update the April post, it's no big deal, silly...no hiding in the blankie fort, unless, of course, you want to!"Yeah I'm stalled on Night Owl at 66%. I don't really love it, but I would like to finish it. But I've gotten sidetracked with other shinies......
Jan, sorry it didnt work for you... Hopefully you get a winner next time!
And speaking of, Miss Fabi! It really is the 30th now... Stop playing lmfao!
Welcome Niki!
And Robin, super jealous! I love Phantom, I've seen it probably 6 times live...just entrancing.

Jan, I find when I am "stalled" on a book (esp as far into as 66%) that it's just not for me! It stinks to DNF I know, but what can you do? Ooooh, I know! Join your friend Leslie in the blankie fort of shame. 😔
OMG Tessa, I've only read two on your list. One in 2012 and the other in 2013. I don't really want to pick either of them for you, so I guess I'm off to read the blurbs of the others on your list and I'll be choosing blind. :-(
OMG Tessa! That was easy. You HAVE to read
. I'm dying to read that but I'm too much of a chicken. Can't wait for your review!
