Rita Sullivan (ritasullivan) | 5 comments Don’t Go Looking for Lizards combine my affection for adventure and action-based stories. As I reside in Southern California, writing a desert adventure story just seemed appropriate. Creating stories that contain learning elements are important to me. I wanted to write a unique story with a ‘not done before’ fresh feel. The illustrated scenes in my book have a genuine desert look and show us that badgers, turtles and lizards really do have a beautiful home. Desert storms, along with flying tumbleweeds, are real events that children can learn from when talking about our changing environment.
