Leah | 14 comments the book is set in historical england or scotland. it starts with 2 sisters talking in a room upstairs about a party downstairs. they accidentally push a pot out the window so the heroine goes downstairs to fix it. she ends up kissing the hero outside. now its a few years later and her sister died in childbirth and we dont know the father. the heroine is writing racy letters for her brother to give to his lover. the hero finds out and forces the heroine to marry him. the heroine is scared of having kids after what happened to her sister

Leah, what year did you read this book?

Can you tell us more about the blackmail letters - who wrote them, how did they threaten the heroine or her family?

Leah | 14 comments I read it a year or two ago, but I think it was an older book possibly. if I remember correctly, the hero is the one that blackmailed her sort of, but not to hurt her family or anything. he just learned of the things she was writing and told her he could tell others if she didn't marry him.

Leah | 14 comments he also never wrote letters to her. the letters mentioned are letters she writes in the name of her brother and his friends so they can give them to their lovers
