My friend is trying to remember a book. It is from the POV of a clone raised to replace the original as she ages, and how the clone starts to grow into her agency. Friend believes that the MC was Indian. Anyone have any ideas?

She says it was The Lost Girl. She kept saying she wanted to remember it, I offered to ask the hivemind, and as soon as I clicked Post she found it! *eyeroll*
