The author shines a light on human trafficking. Did you learn anything new? How well did she do?

Cindy Gerard handled the subject very well. I especially liked that she referred to it as what it really is, slavery, at several times in the story.

I thought she handled it well, too, especially when she shined a light on how we've turned our backs on the problem. The CIA was unwilling to make it part of their agenda because it wasn't related to terrorism, which I cry foul because the profits indirectly fund it. That was news to me.
