Yao sets up Crystal to get fired, probably assuming she'd be desperate enough to take him up on his offer. Given she had nothing to do with the mess at the casino, was her arrest a surprise?

No, I'm not surprised since it all happened under her watch. I am surprised that she got out of the charges so easily.

I could see her getting fired because all of those anomalies happened on her watch but what evidence did they have that she stole anything? Felt like a plot hole to me.

Agree, there wasn't any evidence. Getting her arrested set up her being disgraced, discredited and discouraged and would aid the kidnapped by giving a reason for her to take off.

I was surprised she got arrested, like you said, no evidence pointing to her, just her bad luck it was under her watch.

There was the break in to the casino vault with her access card, so that was the last straw in a series of security breaches and counterfeit bills so I wasn't surprised.
