i want to be a jellyfish
*thinking* By Pyke and Dyke by G. A. Henty. Still trying grasp what's happening in that time period but it's fairly interesting! The writing is brilliant and so though it is slow going, you can't help yourself but get hooked on it! >.< From what I'm reading, it has to deal with the Hollanders striking against England or Spain during the 1500s.
Ohhhh I wouldn't know very much about that topic, so I wouldn't be much help. All I know about that time period was that the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was formed during the mid-1500's. Their motto was: "If God is with us, then who is against us?"
Advice for the SAT from friends:1) Get enough sleep
2) When in four choose B. . .
3) Study
4) Plenty of exercise
5) Eat healthy

And this list will ever be growing as that fateful day looms closer. *shudders*
I'm baaaack. ^.^ How's the weather at your place (possibly the most boring question on eargb but it is a rather funny one)?
Hi, my name is Geraldine, I'm from Colombia, and here the weather is really nice actually, I am really enjoying it a lot, is mild uuh, I love nights like this one <3
Hi Geraldine! ^.^ Nice to meet you! What's the temperature where you live? As of this moment, it's forty degrees. XD
You mean farenheit degrees, right?I really hope so haha, here it's 11 celsius degrees, I think that's like... 50 farenheit degrees.
Where are you from?
Actually it's pretty cold for how it usually is, though, these days have been chilly. I see :3 are you in spring now?
Yes ma'am! Just barely starting spring! It's quite nice that now everything is awake and alive this time. We also have some hawks living in the trees we have on the property as well as an owl. ;-)
Woh! That must be so cool, here there is not such thing as seasons, so I have never seen snow nor watched plants re-borning after winter, it must be so beautiful <3 Do you like birds?
Owls are particularly cute and hawks are magnificent... You must be really happy.
Then I heartily suggest you move over here! You can see the seasons for yourself and it's very beautiful.I do! I've always been fascinated with peregrines and at how fast they can fly! I am happy. Now that we can head the hawks shriek whenever they're out hunting for mice. ^.^

Uh, it's really cloudy right now.
Elizabeth! Good morning! ^.^The weather is quite the opposite. Seems like we'll be having blue skies today.
I hope I'm not interrupting this conversation . . .Hi I'm Banks and I'm making a petition . . . it's to block the Popular Photos sidebar next to people's photos. We should get a choice whether we want to look at it just like we want to block some ads, but Goodreads has denied my request to add a setting to block it. Here is the group link, and to sign the (very short) petition all you need is your username. So no personal information required!

Lorien, you're already in it, I know :)
No, but where I live there's a bunch of dogs and I have to walk past them, and a lot of the dogs aren't kept on leashes and run around wild and growl and chase people, and I'm terrified of being attacked by a dog after being chased by one of them a while back.
That's terrible Elizabeth! I would advise bring an umbrella of good weight with a sharp tip! If you keep it folded up it's a very useful weapon of defense against dogs!
I don't think we have any dog treats. Besides having food on you just makes the dogs chase you more, I would know.
I COULD ride the bus, but we don't have enough money for that plus I actually do want to go out and enjoy the sunshine.
I suggest you bring a fairly long stick or a hike that can get you out of those situations. I know it sounds lame but it's better than nothing. Please stay safe if you plan to got to the library on Monday!
The logical side of me knows that nothing bad will happen, since I've been to the library literally a million times and nothing bad has ever happened to me on those walks, but the anxious side of me refuses to listen. And the anxious side always wins.
Well, if all the times you have gone to the library you haven't been hurt, the chances of you getting hurt will be unlikely. But there still is that Chance that it COULD happen. Hm. I think if some part of you says you shouldn't go, then don't.
I know there's always the chance I can get hurt, I can get hurt just sitting here in my bed. But I'm so sick and tired of being too afraid to do anything. Ever since I graduated school I've been a nervous wreck, unable to do anything when I used to be really fearless and brave. I want to become like that again.
True, very true. There's a chance you can drop dead right now like myself. But living in fear isn't going to accomplish much in life for anyone. Well what changed? What changed from you graduating and the way you are now?
Well, we used to have this computer which was very old and not very good. It had a corrupted drive on it, thus is was filled with our stuff and kept crashing. I remember on Halloween, I was using it to talk to one of my friends, and it literally crashed three times in a row. It crashed, tried to restart, crashed in the middle of restarting, etc. I was terrified that I lost contact with my best friend, since she doesn't like to talk to people on the phone and I didn't have my laptop anymore. We sorted out an alternative way of talking to each other, but that experience shook me up badly. I then started going to the library every single weekday and used their computers, and I used to go from 8 AM to 2 PM so I'd be home in time to unlock the front door for my brothers when they came home from school.
Then one night in the dark I was walking back from the store when this dog near our house, whom before never showed any ill intent towards me, growled at me whenever I tried walking past it, and it started chasing me and I yelled for someone to help me, and ever since then I've been terrified of going outside because I'm afraid of a dog chasing me.
Plus we have a new computer now, so in reality I should have no reason to go to the library, but I really want to go back outside and get more books and exercise since I haven't been feeling very good lately.
I'm so sorry to hear that Elizabeth. *hugs* Have you told your parents about this? Perhaps they can help. Or ask the people who own those dogs to make sure they are kept inside their homes or fences.
Mom just tells me to get over it, and she told me about how when she was younger she'd have to walk to the bus stop next to a house that had a huge dog that wasn't on a leash and would growl at her, and one day it jumped on her and bit her, and that after that her bus stop was changed since she complained every day about how that dog was scary and might attack her and nobody listened to her. And apparently that story is supposed to make me feel better.
