Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Yeah, although it's still cloudy and wet outside.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Weird weather during spring is always the beeesssst
Looks like we'll be having blue skies and blistering sun today. >.<

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Wish that could be us lol.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Haha! Psh. You can just teleport here, right? ;-)

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments My teleporter's broken! Haha.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Such a shame. . . Can't you sprout wings or something?

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Haha! XD Sorry if I'm sounding weird. 😂

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments No it's fine XD I'm pretty weird too.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Aren't we all?
Sorry! Have to go start school! >.<

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments I've met some fairly unweird people haha.

Okay, bye!

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Gosh. . . need any helpful recommendations? Any boos that you are specifically looking for? >.<

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Actually, I just came back from the library haha. I feel bad since I'm a slump, and I didn't actually get the book I wanted to get since Saturday....but I did read the 100 pages of King's Cage earlier that I wanted to read! I'm going to see if I can read another 100 before I go to bed!

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Very well then! Perhaps these recs will get you out of that slump! >.<

Keeper of the Lost Cities
The Screaming Staircase
The Crown's Game Heartless

That's all I've got for more. I may update it later.

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments I just got a bunch of books to get me out of my slump though....I'm just disappointed since I went to get a book I've been wanting to read since Saturday and totally forgot to look until I had already left.

Besides, I've already read The Crown's Game.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments I know! Shame how that happens! >.< What book were you looking for?

You did?!?! O_O And how did you like it?

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Oh, the book was just some fandom thing that's fairly hard to find, but my library is pretty weird so I figured they'd have it.

> https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... My review of The Crown's Game. It was the best book I read last year, hands-down. I sure hope the sequel becomes the best book I've read this year, but it already has some stiff competition.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Haha, yeah. The Crown's Game is one of the best books to ever come from 2016.
Okay, thanks!

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Honestly, after reading The Gathering Storm and Burning Glass last year, which were also set in the Russian Empire and ended up being my fourth and third worst books of last year respectively, I was afraid The Crown's Game would end up like those and have a good idea and a good setting, but end up having annoying characters like those two did, or not taking full advantage of the setting, like Burning Glass, or not being very accurate, like The Gathering Storm. In a way, The Crown's Game was a breath of fresh air after those two lol.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Beautifully put. The Crown's Game is my first book that I ever read that was set in Russia and it was just so good! You can actually picture the settings so clearly and it was just beautiful. I don't know how people can rate this book at one star. 😭

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments I forget the first book I read that took place in Russia....I tend to gravitate more towards books set in countries that were owned by Imperial Russia instead, like Lithuania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Wow, that's pretty cool! And off the top of your head, do you know what those books were? That were owned by Imperial Russia?

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Oh, they weren't books, they were nations. And I wish they were mentioned more in books about the Russian Empire.

All the nations the Russian Empire owned just off the top of my head:

Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Romania, Moldova, Turkey, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, China, Mongolia, and Alaska. I'll throw Russia in there too since it was the RUSSIAN Empire, but Russia was NOT the only nation in it.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Oh! I meant books that were set into those nations. :D Though it sounds like there aren't many fictional books that cover the area like The Crown's Game.

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments It's so HARD to find books set in those nations during their Imperial years. Even writings from those nations in that time period are very rare to find, and believe me, I've scoured the Internet for them so my own novels remain true to those time periods.

Like I'll try to think of some but it'll be hard. >.< So far I'm like the only person who's written about those countries during that time period, which I think is a shame. A lot of the famous literature and paintings and whatnot all came from those countries' Imperial ages. Even a lot of flags and anthems came about in the Russian Empire, since the nations' patriotism were really high.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments I KNOW! Like I was trying to find some writings on the South's side during the War of Northern Agression (the Civil War even though there was nothing "civil" about it) and guess what? Yippy dee da do, I can't find any. So I guess we know how the other feels. -_-
I know that it was a difficult time period for some people (in Russia) but I can't help but find it all so interesting. It's funny because every nation's history sounds so much more interesting than America's. XD

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments The funny thing is it was mainly only in Russia that people were poor and hungry. Russia managed to make a lot of its nations rich, and as a result, they were terrified of peasant revolts since if the Empire fell, they'd become poor as dirt. Like Latvia was super rich from all the Russian exports and kept sending the Russian peasants money and stuff in hopes they wouldn't revolt and destroy the Empire.

And I agree on the South thing. Did you know I'm related to Robert E. Lee? I don't like telling people that though >.<

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments My goodness. History sounds so much better when people explain it ever so well to me. XD Now that really makes me want to look into Russian history. My sibling had read a decently thick book about the Romanovs and who they were.
Woah, mama. You're not secretly with the Feds, are you? XD

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Elizabeth♛ Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ wrote: "The funny thing is it was mainly only in Russia that people were poor and hungry. Russia managed to make a lot of its nations rich, and as a result, they were terrified of peasant revolts since if ..."

And don't worry, I shan't tell a single soul

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Lol I actually don't really mind it, I just don't like it when people think I'm racist or something just because i just happen to be related to him. >.<

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Oh my gosh! People think you're racist because of that? Man, where's the logic in people these days? Sheesh. Just because you're (may or may not) be related to the man, doesn't mean you have the same view points!

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Exactly! It's so stupid! But it could be worse. My best friend's great-grandmother was a Nazi.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments It's called common sense! Some people just don't have it anymore. And just because your best friend's great-grandmother was a Nazi, doesn't mean your friend is too!

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Lol I never said my best friend was.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments *blushes* Shoot! 😂
Haha! We should just stay up all night long talking and see how we can mess with one ankther

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments I'm down for that haha.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Very well then. . .
A few friends in my other group may or may not do it as well so we'll see if they can will stay up all night too. >.<
Fun fact! Did you know that "Honest" Abe Lincoln actually said in a letter (according to this YouTube channel) that if he could end the war without freeing the slaves, he would've done it, but if he could end the war but feeeing the slaves, he would do that too. Oh, and it gets better. He actually said that the black people were an inferior race on this planet! How twisted is that!

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments That's so weird! Did you know George Washington wanted to end slavery during his presidency but said he didn't think America was ready for it in one of his letters?

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Woah. I wonder what he meant with, "America isn't ready"
Did you know that good ol' Georgie was a Mason? Makes sense actually, what with the "hidden hand" gesture in some of his portraits. Creepy, but fascinating

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments A Mason (also known as a Freemason) is a group of men and woman that hold "secret knowledge" that no one can receive without them. They seem quite creepy what with they're hidden messages and symbols. That could just be me. >.>

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments Ohhhh okay. I knew that, I just thought you were talking about something else for some reason.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Noooope! ^.^
Hehe. Any other fun facts before I turn in for the night? Heck, I know I said I would stay up all night but sheesh, I can't do it. XD

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments I was about to go to bed too actually. XD

Hmmm....Mom told me the other day when she was a child tap water wasn't regulated by the government like it is now, so it was easy for all kinds of weird things to slip into pipes and into the sink as a result, like bugs. Same with bath water. She said sometimes bugs would get into pipes and come out of the bath faucet. I asked if she was joking and she said no lol.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments So since you're older than I am, you should set a good example. ;-)
Ugh. *shudders* Sorry, but that is gross. It would be a huge field day for someone who loves to collects bugs but still. . .

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments That made me giggle lol. I mean it was really rare, but there was still a chance of it happening.

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments Don't see how. . . 😆 Unless you're meaning to say you're under the age of fifteen. Unlikely.
See? There's a chance of it happening. But lovers should just dunk their heads into those pipes and have the time of their lives!

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments No the thing you said about bugs made me giggle :P

And so did that :P

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ | 3388 comments *raises eyebrow* You wouldn't happen to be one of the few people who like collecting bugs, would you?

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 16707 comments I'm actually not haha.
