Princess Leia
Let's face it, you deserve royalty. Leia is about as good as you can do in the galaxy and you'd be perfect together. You share the same moral values and you want a partner you can be inspired by and learn from. Plus, Leia is an independent, strong woman and it's important to you that you're with someone who has their own life.

There isn't. I just looked at the books in the lead on the polls.

Where did you find the threads Chris? I don't see them.

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

The threads aren't up yet. If you go to the poll section you can see the 3 books that won as the voting has closed.

Chris - there isn't a specific order. We just have to wait to see what the Mods decide.

Hi, guys just seen this, I'm Michelle (the one without the surname in the list) and I'm a filmstudent. I really love to read and I love doing research about book to movie adaptations. I also love to read young adult books since they are always a bit easier for me to read when I'm very busy with uni work and just need to relax a little.

This is my second time doing a towerteam challenge and I'm very excited! It seems I'm in a chattier group right now and the other one was a bit boring so that's much better for me :(

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

Also my shelf is; Michelle's shelf

Lol!

The 3 books for May will be:

YA 22nd May - thread
Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Adult Sci-fi/Fantasy 2nd May - thread
The Circle by Dave Eggers The Circle by Dave Eggers
Note: this is the only book that can be started before 4th May

Anything Goes 12th May - thread
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

Points:

Writing a day's worth of discussion questions = 40
Participating in a current BOM (participating in discussion) = 20

NOTE: We will accept one team member per book per team for writing a days DQs. If, by three days prior to the BOM starting, we don't have enough volunteers to write all DQs, then we will let more than one team member per team write questions. If we have more people than days sign up (prior to 3 days before start date) we will randomise the volunteers to determine those who can write DQs

I plan on signing up for Strange the Dreamer and The Circle along with volunteering for DQ.

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments I nominated A Gentleman in Moscow so I really should join that one :D Happy to volunteer for DQs too.

I also have Strange the Dreamer sitting on my shelf so will no doubt join the discussion for that too.

♦Ashley♦ (ascherger12gmailcom) | 1131 comments Anyone have any books lined up for towers yet? Besides to BOM.

message 62: by Angie ☯ (new)

Angie ☯ | 3102 comments I can make a list of books that I want to read for towers (or anything) and then I will read something totally different and not touch my stack! LOL I am a total mood (or challenge task) reader! Going to fly by the seat of my pants with towers....oh and this is my first towers!

message 63: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) I know that feeling. I have books I planned on reading for Uno then got set aside for shorter books.
The books I am going to make an effort to keep on my TBR for Towers are:
Red Queen series (going to reread first two)
Court of Thorns and Roses (definitely need to reread first two to see what I pick up that I the first time)
Defy the Stars
Continue with the Dresden files as I get them from my library
Raven's Shadow's listened to the first book during wobble and remember liking it. Bought the series when it was on sale at audible.
The last two GoT
There are a bunch of new releases that I have fallen behind on that I want to read. The two genres I want to try to stay away from are non-fiction and cozy mystery. I am not a huge fan of non fiction and reading way too many cozy mysteries right now. Great for my current group challenge and will be happy to set that genre aside for a while after next week.
I will make the effort to read the BOM's if I can get them from my library.

Ora (oeamis) Oh, and this is my 2nd Tower

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

I've edited post 67 to now include the dates and links to the threads for the BOMs.

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

I've pledged to read these books via challenges in another couple of groups - 2017 challenges. So, I'll probably be reading quite a few of those. But apart from them who knows - I'm a mood reader.

Hi everyone!
This is my first Tower team challenge (still recuperating from WOBBLE!) and happy to see some 'old' friends as well as meet new ones.
I am married with 4 kids. I'm a Nurse Practitioner but stay home with kids currently. I love to read and almost always have one going on audio and kindle. I'm not super fast reader but can get thru a couple (2-3) a week.
Also an 80s kid! Loved the first 3 Star Wars movies ( I mean the first 3 that came out- starting with 4?) but have not read any of them. I got Leia in the Star Wars quiz..
I read lots of genres and like romance within the context of a great story, not as the primary storyline:-)
Here is my Tower Teams shelf. https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... I don't know how to link any other way.
looking forward to this challenge!

I love that series. However I don't think book 4 will be out anytime soon. The author may have George RR Martin issues.

Ora (oeamis) I was wondering if anyone is going to watch American Gods on Starz. When it was a BOM during the last TT I struggle with the book a bit, so I am kind of on the fence. The previews look really good and I do love Ian McShane.

Ora, I have Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard on my list also. Do you like the series so far?

message 87: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) I really enjoyed the series. I have been wanting to reread the first two books before finally reading King's Cage. I'm hoping since page counts do matter with TT that I will finally be able to read the series.

I love Neil Gaiman but American Gods is not one of my favourites. I will watch the series but I don't have cable so will probably have to wait.

Lauri (otwlauri) | 1723 comments I'm not an accountant. Wouldn't that just be too weird? I actually am a math retard. (Pardon the expression!) I am an office assistant at the state mental hospital in the medical records unit. Very interesting with an underlying sense of danger and intrigue.

I will read anything and everything. My basic rule is to give a new book 100 pages. If I absolutely hate it, I'll stop and move on. It doesn't happen too often...

What's everyone reading right now?
