Attack of the Clones
My son and I just finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (view spoiler)
He wanted to start the next book right away - but I said we'd have to wait 2 days until my bookclub challenge starts. We only listen to a chapter or less a night so they take ages to get through.
I'm slowing down the end of Glass Sword so I don't start something new - but I only have about 4 hours left of it....
Hurry up Tower V!
Question for the captains - do you want us to just add books to our shelf when we finish or comment on this thread with the title/author/date finish/page number, etc. so you can confirm everything?
Both, we need to see the completed book in this thread, and it has to be on your shelf. If it is not added to your shelf the spreadsheet will not add it and we will not get the points, so don't forget. With the BOM/DQ, post a link to the comment that show that you participated or the DQ post.
And make sure that the book that you put on your shelf is the edition you have read, and let us know if it's an audiobook because we will have to add a different edition on the spreadsheet to get the points.
When posting completed books use this template, bold it if you can so it stands out.

Also, everyone that is not friends with the Mods account needs to become friends as the spreadsheet won't work for you if your not, so here is the link to there profile Moderators of NBRC , if your not already friends add them please.
We don't have it yet, the mods are still doing some last minute stuff on them. We should get it soon.
So am I, I have been trying to hold of on starting anything new so they can be counted for this challenge.
I almost died waiting to start
until today, but at least I had
s to fascinate me that I finished last night (unfortunately means it doesn't count for this challenge), but it was SO good

KaZaam wrote: "So the spreadsheet automatically updates as long as you shelve the book on the tower team shelf?"Sort of, when you add your book to your self and post it in here, Paula or myself can remake the spreadsheet which updates all new books added to the shelves or we can set it to remake itself on a timer. Don't know how to do the timer, will have to find out about that.
Is the countdown international or adjusted to continents? Just wondering since some teams have started and I still have to wait. Impatient, I know.

Don't ask me :D Just clicked on the overall spreadsheet and noticed that one team has already got 40 points before the start..got curious...
Maybe one of the teams got confused? I'm on my lunch break now, but won't have time to start reading until tonight. Best of all, I'LL GET TO START A NEW AUDIOBOOK TONIGHT! I finished my last one yesterday morning on the way to work, and didn't realize how much I'd miss using audiobooks on my daily commute until I drove home last night in silence (close to hour drive). One question for Stephanie - in your last e-mail, you said that if we're reading an audio book, we should mark that in the post and you or Paula would add the page count. I think I read that the page count for audiobooks would be based on the default edition of the book. Would it be easier if, when we read an audio book, we link to the default version and then note that fact in the completion post? That way, it will automatically link to the sheet.

Maybe they read one of the BOM's, I saw that one of them the start date was the 2 May and it was an exception that they could start it early with everyone else reading not in the challenge. But if it's not that the mods will fix it.
I'm going to post the template in post #9, so it's easier to find when you finish a book.Don't forget to add all books finished to your shelf and to add a finish date.
I will post all the books I'm able to read in a week (May 11). Is that okay? Or should I post them individually?

:( I waited till today to read The Circle didn't know we could start it early.
Yay to the official start! Summer is crazy at work, so I may not be around to chat a whole lot (especially since I hate using the app to comment) but I'll check in once a week to post a book or say hi so you know I'm still around.
Coreen ♥ wrote: "I will post all the books I'm able to read in a week (May 11). Is that okay? Or should I post them individually?"Post them individually as you read them, it will be easier to see that way.

That's fine, I thought I saw that somewhere but I could be wrong so it's better to start after the challenge starts just in case.

Don't worry, we will just have to put your book into the page override sheet, it counted your pages as 0 so it won't give points. we can change that.
Don't worry Brittany, and 700 pages is a lot. I won't be finishing a book until next week, because I'm working on my thesis and it must be finished this month, so I read one book per week tops.
I only hope to finish my thesis soon, it has become really depressing working on it, it's been a year of work with a lot of problems at the laboratory and all I want is for it to be over and do whatever a want (mostly read hahaha)

You haven't missed anything, the countdown clock is for the start of the challenge, only book started after that time will count for the challenge.
And no, all you have to do is read, there are no tasks or mini challenges, there might be at some point if the mods change there mind and want to add some, so for now it's just reading what you want within the rules.
