If the info in the title is incorrect, you can correct it. Be careful if the series name has changed, editions published under the previous series name should retain the name they were published under.
The relevant part of the librarian manual is here:
https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...
(Scroll down to the heading "series")
I have a question about naming books when they belong to any series. When somebody adds a new book he has an ability to put a series title and number in the book title field what allows then to add this book into the series automatically. But then there is some inconsistency.
For example, we have this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
When you open this link you see just a regular series (as a gray text in brackets after the book title). But if one of your friend is reading it then in your news feed it uses another title (actually what is still written in the book title field). It is easy to see a difference if you just open the same series and look how this particular book is presented in the list: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1278...
So, my question is: are there any best practice what to do in such situation? Should librarians remove extra series info from the book title if this book is already in a real series?
I could not find anything about it in the Librarian Manual.
