Our group seemed to like the book ok, giving it a 3 out of 5 stars, but perhaps it is better in this case to watch the movie. Spencer Tracy won an Oscar for Best Actor and I hear he is quite moving as the embattled Manuel. Personally, I found the book interesting but am somewhat interested in a story that is less travelogue and more dynamic in its characterizations.
