Can anybody please enlighten me about Theta's Power?

I mean, is she pyrokinetic or is she just able to emit radiation or heat through her hands? She dissolved the doorknob when she heard naughty John and she was also able to defend herself against her (ex) husband. But her "power" is the only one among them that does not make much sense to me.
I think maybe it's not fully evolved yet- like even she doesn't know the whole truth of it yet because it's only happened a few times. It's like quite... raw? Eh, I think we'll find out in the next book.
