Oh no!

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

That is probably something that one wishes they wouldn't find out.

message 21: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments I have never had one, what does it consist of?
On topic of thread.
I can't get enough of porridge.

message 22: by Heidi (last edited Aug 04, 2009 12:00PM) (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I've learned over the years that there's nothing that I don't prefer in moderation. Another way to see this or posture the questions:

If you were stranded on a deserted island and you could only have a lifetime supply of three things, what would you want to have with you?

I'd get sick of it all, foodwise... except fresh clean water and fuji apples. I'd want an icemaker, too. :)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments I often overdose on salty stuff like pistachios and roasted pumpkin seeds. The salt just dries you out and makes your mouth feel like a parched beach.
But does that stop me? Noooooo...

message 24: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Gala apples are the choice on my island, coffee, and pasta

That's what beer is for, Jackie.

message 26: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments That's true.
My island must have cake Heidi, skip the apples.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Precisely Larry!

message 28: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Rootbeer works great as well.
What is the beer of choice on TC?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments Rootbeer and ginger ale!

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Michelle wrote: "Rootbeer works great as well.

Cold!

message 31: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Do you mix them?

message 32: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 04, 2009 12:17PM) (new)

Actually Ale Asylum's Nut Brown is really good.

Resurrection Ale for me, Michelle:

Will my desert island have a tap?

I'd also like a tap for Thomas Kemper Orange Cream Soda (no other soda will do), one for basil limeade, one for Celestial Seasonings' Candy Cane Lane herbal tea, and one for water.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments I like cream soda, too.
A really good float is 7-Up and rainbow sherbet. Or any kind of sherbet...

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Michelle wrote: "That's true.

Clearly you've never eaten cake for several meals in a row... lots of it (I have - hard lesson learned). Seriously, EVERYTHING loses its appeal when consumed outside of moderation.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments Except maybe apple pie. Homemade pie, that's made with Granny Smith apples, so it's not too sweet. I don't think I'd ever get sick of that.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

We have a deep dish apple pie made with Granny Smith apples. Not sure that I would get to sick of it either.

message 39: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments a slawburger is a south thing and the ones that i hav had are BBQ pork with vinegar slaw on top piled on a bun. sounds weird but they are great. wish i had one now...

i made some super spicy mop sauce for a big BBQ party i went to and now i am hooked on it and put it on everything. all my buddies want it so i have given out bottles and bottles of it and am down to about 20 ounces. must make more

message 40: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I would challenge ANY of you to eat your dessert treats for a week, several times a day... and tell me that you still wouldn't get sick of it. I don't believe, for a minute, that I stand alone in my experience.

message 41: by Morgan (new)

message 42: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13815 comments Did someone say cheese?

message 43: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I get satiated on cheese after a while, too.

message 44: by Morgan (last edited Aug 04, 2009 12:46PM) (new)

Morgan (neimanmarxist) | 32 comments Unfortunately, cheese is my ass's (and thighs') worst enemy. Cheese is the one thing I can't give up when I am trying to eat right, not that cheese is unhealthy, I just have an extremely hard time setting limits on it.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments I love chocolate, but it doesn't take much to be too much.
That is, of good chocolate, and JUST chocolate. I can eat LOTS of chocolate ice cream, probably because it's not really that chocolatey.

message 46: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Throw some coffee down the hatch and keep the sweets acomin Heidi.
Kevin, I have a recipe for bbq that was my Gpa's. I make up a batch and keep it around, great for dipping bread. It only has four ingred. He used to sell it when money was tight in the fourties and fifties.

message 47: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (neimanmarxist) | 32 comments I like cheap chocolate...Cadbury and Ritter Sport are my favorites. My husband on the other hand is a chocolate elitist.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8993 comments Nothing wrong with Ritter Sport!

message 49: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments last night i ate a regular old Hershey bar and i have to say it was near perfect

message 50: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (luvrdn) | 501 comments Morgan, my sixteen year old is just like you. I fed her chocolate when she was two days old. oops.
