I believe you are partially correct. The cover (for which I found a better version) is the Thriller Book Club edition from 1964: here.
However, what you linked is not the Simon and Schuster 1963 cover either. Amazon claims it is the 1964 Hamilton cover, and maybe it is. I added the correct Simon and Schuster cover here.
