Anyone ready for Halloween and have plans? I know I'm set, but there are movies I wanna watch. So far, there's Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Coraline. Anyone have any more suggestions I should try?

Haha sounds like a good plan. Aside from watching movies relating to Halloween, I'm gonna give away candy to the children but wear face paint! I cannot wait. ^-^

I love Halloween. We have a rule in my area, you only knock on the door of houses that have decorations up. As I can't do much with pumpkins this year due to my hands, I have bought a Halloween projector. I am not sure where I'm going to point it, but it will project eyeballs and other halloween images somewhere. I used to decorate the front of the house. This year will be a toned down effort due to circumstances. I will of course have my bowl with the hand that snaps down on the childrens' hands when they try to grab sweets.

I can understand. I think it's cool to have a projector. I know they have one for Christmas, but I never knew they have one for Halloween. I wish I could see it.

Halloween is one of the those weird holidays that Europe doesn't have a tradition for but that some businesses try to enforce on people now (like Valentine's and Black Friday, if you can believe it). Growing up in Germany I'd never heard of Halloween until the 1980s. When I lived in the UK in the 90s there was a little bit of it (but nothing comparable to US scale). Here in Spain it seems to catch on as an adult excuse to get dressed up (though some schools do it, too) but without any trickin' or treatin'.
Personally, I've developed two of my own Halloween habits - watching horror films (and I recommend the original 'When A Stranger Calls' from 1979) and writing an anual horror short story.
Oh, and I might bake a pumpkin pie, too. ;)
