Below is an elevator pitch.
Women are not seen as human, but objects used for a man’s pleasure and convenience, chosen in the annual run to become a new man’s housewife or a new son’s mother. Once thirteen, girls are to leave their Hill Houses and participate in The Run through the tiers of men, watched with hungry eyes. Jedidiah Harley, a man who is taught to live as superior, cares little about his status but longs for a family with the stolen sister that he knew as a boy before she was forever lost in the system. Jedidiah plays the role he is given, choosing women yearly in a meaningless motion as he plans on finding his sister when the time comes. However, his plans are changed when he falls in love with Nora a year before his sister turns thirteen and is set to run. He is then presented with a choice: The love of his life or the sister he promised to save. Who will he choose? Or will his choice be made for him?
Enter The Run yourself to find out.
