I read this several years ago and would like to read it again. I thought it was written by Johanna Lindsey but i can't find it on her page. I believe that the book is connected to a book about the hero's parents. The step mother had the heroine beaten because she wanted the money from the dowry but also because she is jealous of her. I think that the father was away in the Crusades. Thank you for your assistance.
