Ch1-7. Strangely, I'm liking the alternating views. Two very different characters, but the way they are grieving is similar. The device of the letters is a good way of making us look beyond surface appearances.

Up to ch 28-nine of the characters are quite what we assume. I like the friends both Declan and Juliet have. Surprisingly thought-provoking, without ramming the point home.

Chapter 9 till 31 it's a lot of thought I am loving so I can't stop reading,

I'm enjoying the book... I like How Juliet and Declan, throught the letters and emails, are able to really conect, support each other, and really get to know one another... and they have no ideia who the other one is... it really shows how judgements and preconceptions are wrong and keep you from really knowing a person!... like the saying goes "don't judge a book by it cover".

I was shocked when I heard that kerry died when she was 10. Declan blames his dad! His dad is in jail... but Declan also blames himself for it. I wonder what happend? Was their father abusive?!

And what exacly put Declan in community service?! Did I miss something?! I only remember something about Declan driving his dad's pickup truck...

I like Declan... but the one I like most is Rev... I really wanna read his story :)

About the grieving an the feelings of the book... I'm really liking it, I think it's well put and very well written... and I am feeling the book.

I hope Juliet takes up photography again soon, though I understand why it hurts to do it without her mom, since it was such a big part and passion of hers. (hide spoiler)]

Declan's mom throwing up... please don't let her be seriously sick! The last thing Declan needs is for her to die and for him to be left All alone with Alan.

Or, maybe, she's pregnant??!!!

It doesn't seem to be just food poisonning since she was sick a while ago, too...


Now, About Declan and Juliet... I knew he wouldn't be able to leave her there, in her brokedown car, All alone, in the middle of the night and rain. Declan's too good for it. :)

I was sad that Juliet didn't even wonder if Declan could be 'the Dark'... she just really is expecting someone else but him... it's gonna be a shock when she finds out it is him. (hide spoiler)]

It's really sad to know that Declan drunk drived his dad's pickup truck onto a bulding (was it?) on purpose! ... he was trying to kill himself! :(

I hope he eventually understands that he is not in his mom's way of getting a new life... he is part of her life! (He will always be, as her son).

I don't think his mom blames kerry's accident on Declan... and I don't think she is an extremely bad mom.. I think she just doesnt know how to deal with Declan's grieve and sense of guilt and she doesnt know how to act around him...

Chapters 1-16
(view spoiler)[So far I'm really liking this. Both of the main characters are very interesting. They're far from perfect but that's what makes them stand out to me.

I'm a sucker for any contemporary that involves two people communicating over email or in letters so this is definitely up my alley. I think the meeting between Juliet and Declan will definitely be interesting since they've met IRL and she's obviously a bit afraid of him.

The poem scene stood out to me though. Mostly because I've covered the poem they were speaking about in English class XD I also hated how everyone was surprised and judgemental when Declan talked about desperation. Damn stereotypes!

I had a hard time stopping to make an update on here so I'm diving right back in. Bye for now :) (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ So far so good. The only thing that has irked me about this book is how judgemental Rowan was towards Rev. Why do you care that he wears hoodies all the time?

The fact that Declan knows that Juliet is Cemetary Girls adds a different feel to their relationship. I wasn't expecting him to figure it out so soon in the story. I really liked that he still went back to help her even though Juliet was pretty rude to him earlier that night.

I also love how Juliet is slowly repairing her relationship with her dad.

Chapters 27-34
(view spoiler)[ So I sort of hate Declan's mom now. I just can't wrap my head around why the fuck they would keep the pregnancy from him. And that fact that Alan wasn't planning on telling him even when his mom was in the freaking hospital because of it. Were you just going to let the kid think his mom was dying? Fuck you Alan.

I love the relationship that has developed between Declan and Frank though. Declan really needs a father figure in his life and Frank is filling that role for him in a way.

I had a feeling we would explore the possibility of Declan being responsible for the accident that killed Juliet's mom, but I don't think that will end up being the case. I'm not sure Juliet could ever forgive him even though it kind of seems like she wasn't as close to her mom as we were led to believe at the start.

Can't wait to see how all of this plays out!

---I was not expecting Juliet's mother to have been cheating. It caught me off guard, but at the same time, I feel like I should have been expecting it.
---I love the relationship that has formed between Frank and Declan
---I'm glad Declan made up with his mom and Alan, but I still hate them.
---Juliet/Declan.... finally! I'm sort of pissed by how abruptly it ended because I wanted to be there for that kiss. You can't lead me on for 400 pages and leave me with the promise of a kissing scene author!!
---Where has Rowan been all this time? I missed you girl, but not really though. (Great statement me...)
---My heart broke a little, but I'm still alive. So this book only gets 4 stars.

I am on Chap 21 and let me just say (view spoiler)[ In person Juliet is ANNOYING! Like the things she says to Declan makes me want to scream "bitch" and her anxiety/ dramatics is getting really old! Like i get it, you Mom died, and i sympathize but that doesn't give you an excuse to be rude and mean to others #NotCool.
