Not sure if and when there has been a James Lee Burke novel in previous challenges, but if it is possible, I'd like to nominate Creole Belle, (Dave Robicheaux #19), published in 2012.
I don't think we have Mary but would you be able to nominate either the first, or very early in the series please :) Thanks.

That shipping is probably within the US Owl - shipping to AU is astronomical!! Thanks though :)

Stolen Souls by Stuart NevilleThis is the third book and I'm a bit confused about the publishing date. I picked it from the Guardian's best crime books of 2012, and there was an edition published in 2012, but I think it was originally published in 2011, so if you don't want to use it, fair enough.

The copy you've shown there was published in 2012 Mary so it'll be fine :) Thanks! The only thing of course is that it's #3 for people who haven't read any, but it could be one of those series you don't need to read in order :)

I've not read any of the series myself Brenda, so I'd be in the same boat. There was no caveat in the article so I assumed it was able to be read as a stand alone.

We are doing something a little different for 2017 monthly reads. Starting with January's read we are working our way backward in publication years :)
So - nominate a crime/mystery/thriller/suspense book which was published in 2012 for our May read. True crime or cosy mysteries are included in this :)
NOTE: The beginning or early in a series (if a series) please :)
This thread will be open until 13th March, then our nominations will go to the vote:) Good luck and have fun!
Authors and publishers, please don't nominate your own work!
