Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments Have a great reading month, April. I read and enjoyed Valor's Choice years ago. I've had a few Guy Gavriel books on my TBR shelf for awhile now. I really need to work some of them into my reading schedule soon.

Allison (rainy-day-reads) Thanks Veronica. I've been meaning to read Tigana long enough that it counts as the second oldest book on my Goodreads shelves - time to tackle it!

Angela | 749 comments Have a great month Allison. I hope you enjoy Tigana. I read The Lions of Al-Rassan last month by Kay and loved it.

Enjoy your reading, Allison! I cut my gothic mystery teeth on Victoria Holt, though I haven't read The Shivering Sands.

Allison (rainy-day-reads) No, this is my first. I'm just now finding my way to some classic gothic suspense. Looking forward to it!

Allison (rainy-day-reads) Finished One for Sorrow, the first in a historical mystery series set in the Byzantine empire. ★★★

It's an interesting time period, and I liked the main character so I might continue with the series at some point.

Allison (rainy-day-reads) I strayed off the path and read The Rose Master this weekend. It was on my Kindle, and I needed something quick and light. This was a standalone YA gothic thriller. ★★★
