I love Victoria Holt, Allison and The Shivering Sands has been on my tbr for awhile now. Have you read any of her others?

No, this is my first. I'm just now finding my way to some classic gothic suspense. Looking forward to it!

Finished One for Sorrow, the first in a historical mystery series set in the Byzantine empire. ★★★

It's an interesting time period, and I liked the main character so I might continue with the series at some point.

I strayed off the path and read The Rose Master this weekend. It was on my Kindle, and I needed something quick and light. This was a standalone YA gothic thriller. ★★★
