Mary (mary_margie) | 2 comments I've looked for this book I read about a year ago on all kind of search engines but I just can't remember enough to find it! It was about a girl who went to work in a sewing shop, fought with her coworker who was crippled, worked for a nasty client, and embroidered a gorgeous dress that looked like stained glass. It was probably fantasy, but I don't remember any magic or anything in it. At the end she got her own sewing shop and kissed a guy who may have been a prince, but I can't remember. It was most likely YA. If this rings any bells, please let me know, I remember enjoying it and I really want to find it again!

Ceilidh (suitcasedragon) | 58 comments Ooh ooh ooh! I know this one--Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George, right?

Creel wants to be a seamstress and gets a job working in a shop (after acquiring slippers from a dragon) where she is exploited. She chafes against the constraints the owner of the shop places on her sewing. Creel sews a dress that has panels that look like stained glass.
Later on, after defeating the enemy princess (long story) she says hi/bye to Shardas (dragon) kisses Luke (prince) and gets her own seamstress shop (yay!).

Glad I could help! I loved that series when I was 12.

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5384 comments I really enjoyed this book too, but I don't like the character of Larkin and wish she weren't there. What do you think?

I agree, she was the stereotypical "mean-girl-for-no-important-reason" character.
