Ghost in the Shell

Has anybody else been to see this? I went to see it today and wasn't expecting that much but was pleasantly surprised. Scarlett Johansson was good and the cinematography was really cool.

The reviews don't seem very positive but I think it was a decent attempt to film the manga.

I'd like to see it, but The Boss says it isn't worth going to the movie theater for.

Haven't seen it yet, but I think the anime Ghost in a Shell II is a bit of a masterpiece. Actually has some philosophy and depth, which is decidedly lacking in film these days.

I think that's part of the criticism of the film that it's not got the depth of the animé which is probably true. Saying that, if the film was reviewed as a standalone film rather it would have been much better received.
