Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Part 2 (Chapters 6-12).

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

Andreas Hurray, Lan is finally back in ch 12 - I had to wait really long for that guy to reappear!

The rest is more or less a coming-of-age of Moiraine and Sichuan to get Aes Sedai. Most of the traditions have been described in the WoT books with Elayne and Nynaeve. Lots of Aes Sedai that you know from the series are here, just in somewhat younger form, e.g. Verin, Elaida, etc.

If one had just read the series, this part might be a bit dragging and repetitive. As mine was a couple of years ago, it was a welcomed kind of re-read.

Bill | 1596 comments I just finished book ten a few weeks back and think there are enough differences in this story that it isn't dragging and repetitive for me. While with Egwene we get the accepted test we never get to see the test for full Aes Sedai. We also get to see the cause for the schism between Siuan/Moraine and Elaida which has huge consequences later on.

Two parts in this section made me super happy even though I knew about both. The first was when Moraine passes Rina Hawthorne's room and sees Elyas in his warder role. The second was Moraine passing her test which of course she had to pass.

I want more Lan.

Wait, what? THE Elyas Machera from The Eye of the World who informed Perrin of his wolfiness? Thanks for pointing this one out. It simply didn't ring anymore after all that time :)

Bill | 1596 comments That's the one. The reference is very quick as Moraine simply thinks his name as she sees him training with another warder.
