Since my last installment, I have finished The Killing Season. I have also started, and finished, Crisis, Ready Player One, and Dragon Venom. I liked three of those well enough, but Ready Player One was a fantastic book.I read a little less than half of A Meeting at Corvalis but I had to give it back to the library and am waiting to get it back. I have also started The Demon Apostle, Mistress of the Empire, and The Curse of Chalion.
Am reading The Key by Kathryn Wise. It's a free ebook from her website www.kathrynswise.com'The Key is the first installment of Kathryn Wise's Clairvoyant five-book serial, an exciting twist on the classic psychological thriller combining the intrigue of a James Bond story with a subtle undercurrent of existential reality' .

I've been reading books in the Philip Kerry mystery series about detective Bernie Gunther during the rise of Hitler in Germany. Really good. Currently on this one The One from the Other
I'm reading books I agreed to review. Just finished one
now on to the next
and there's about 15 more after that.

I love this series!
I love this series!
I am currently reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I read it once before in high school. Also, finishing season 2 of the HULU series made me want to read it again. I am enjoying it so far.
I'm attempting to read
it's a british police proceedural. I've decided I will not read anymore of this genre for review. They bore me to tears.
I'm reading The Hand of God by John Isaac Jones.
When I started this book I thought I was going to hate it. About 20 pages into it I couldn't put it down.If you like historical fiction this book is fantastic. It's more than that though and right now I have no idea how to explain it and I have to review it. It's based on a true story, includes a murder, involves race inequality in Florida in the 1950's and there is a lot of analyzing the concept of God and good verses evil but isn't religious. Now are you totally confused?
Waiting for life to settle down so I can get some reading done! Once again, I'm on fire in Northern California.
Finished up The Veil series by Pippa DaCosta with
5 star read. Slugging through
. It's a really good fairy tale. Absolutely hilarious. It just moves really slow. FINALLY Karen Chance came out with a new Dorina Basarab book. I pre-ordered
and I'm devouring it! Love love love it!

I just started reading the darkest minds and it is a truly amazing novel. Definitely makes my top ten list.
I'm reading Las Looks.
It hasn't been released yet. It's for review for Penguin. If it doesn't get better soon I'm not finishing it. I can absolutely tell everyone that a book from a publisher like Penguin does not guarantee it's a good book. I honestly think the indie authors are better.
KAREN BE CAREFUL IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA! I just read an article in the news about a fire tornado up there. Damn water spouts and normal ones are bad enough but a ball of fire churning at 143mph is what you'd see in hell.
Okay so I was so wrong about
I really thought I was going to hate it because the main character is really offbeat and kind of OCDish. After I got about 50 pages in he started to grow on me. Now I've been glued to the book all day.Has anyone read any of John Sanford's Virgil Flowers series? This guy is similarly weird (actually much weirder) and brilliant. He's much more flawed because of his past.
This is a series I will probably follow if Penguin doesn't price it too high.
I just started Garry Kasparov's book Winter Is Coming: Why Vladimir Putin and the Enemies of the Free World Must Be Stopped. It's heavy hitting.
I'm reading Laurell K Hamiltons
Serpentine, then I'm reading book 2 of the Saga of the Chosen series,
The Rainmaker, by Petra Landon.
I'm starting this one tomorrow.
I've finished the first two in the series and reviewed them. It's a good series with a different slant on U.S. history and slavery. It's a more accurate picture of our forefathers beliefs.
Im reading
and really enjoying it. This is a novel about a woman way before her time. I'm reading the ARC and don't believe it's been released yet. If you like historical fiction I recommend this one. It's 1911, pre WWI and a great story about a Jewish banking family in Europe.
Hi! I always read many books at the time. I have many that I'm currently reading. The ones I am focusing most on right now are: The Fault in Our Stars
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (re-read)
New Moon (re-read)
Cress
I'm struggling with this one. I hate the mother and just want to slap her. It's a serious subject. Bullying at school and online. The poor kids mother makes it so much worse for her. Plus she's just an unlikable snobby b*tch. I keep putting it down because I could choke the life out of her.
I'm still waiting for Magic Triumphs from the library. Currently reading ARC of
Kindle:
Book:
(as soon as I'm done with the ARC)
I've read and reviewed three books in a row that were horrible to just okay. If the next one is terrible I might go out of my mind.
I just started
I hope it's as good as I expect it to be. I love archeological thrillers and since it is enmeshed with Chinese history that makes it even more interesting in my opinion.
If anyone is interested in King Arthur legend I'm currently reading The Lost Queen
It's really good so far. I believe it's got a lot of factual history in it. When I read books like this one on kindle I like that fact I can look info up in Wikipedia. What I don't like is the difficulty of trying to go back to the front of the book to look at the list of characters and which "kingdom" they belong to.
This book seems really well researched and Wikipedia so far has info on the characters. I have loved the idea of Camelot since I was a little girl. Camelot was one of the few movies my family went to together.
It's so interesting they are finally finding evidence of a real King Arthur. I want to believe the ancients knew more than us when it comes to spirituality and magic. I want to believe Merlin existed.
I'm still reading
It started to feel like I'd been reading it forever. The book is really good so I couldn't figure out why it was taking so long. Now I know it's 527 pages long it makes more sense. This has just been one of those ugh weeks and my concentration has been off. We got the remnants of Florence and low pressure systems are killers for me. All my poor damaged joints hurt like heck when they come through.
Well back to reading. I'm 65% done with this one.
I swear I'm making my way to
as soon as I can!My cup runneth over with buddy reads and arcs.
Currently reading ARC
I love Abbie Roads! I chat with her frequently on Facebook. Buddy read
Still working on
It's a really good book, but I keep pushing it back due to other book commitments.
I have
in what amount's to trade paperback to read and review next. Then I have Last Call which is Warren Adler's new book for review. After that a bunch more. I won't even count anymore.
Just starting
It's been so long since I read a print book I'm not sure how this will go. I forgot how heavy the darn things are!
Patricia wrote: "Just starting

Almost done with my ARC and what do I go and do? Get 3 more, of course!
Still pending
Never heard of this author. I'll probably get it if I got a Bouchet book.

N..."Yeah over 400 pages in trade paperback. That's probably like 600 in a regular paperback. It's a WWII thriller so it should be good.
Penguin first to read "loans" you a digital copy of an ARC on their app and then they take it back after a certain amount of days.
I can see taking it back if you don't review it but if you do the least they could do is let you keep it.
I have one I have to read and review before they snatch it back.
Oh and The Lost Queen
One of the best books I've ever read. Completely different than The Mists of Avalon or any other Merlin/King Arthur book out there. It is meticulously researched and the true history of Merlin. I really recommend it.

That book looks really interesting. You mentioned the Pendragons which sparked my interest. I'll see if I can get my hands on a copy. I'd be interested to see what kind of symbolism there is in the book.
Have you ever read any Laurence Gardner books?
