April M-o-M Challenge – Skeetor
Begins: 01Apr17 / Ends: 30Apr17

Our March M.o.M. (Member of the Month) was Skeetor. So this challenge is based on the information she shared about herself.

1. Skeetor is fascinated by foreign languages - read a book translated from a language not your own.

2. Her favorite sandwich was from Goodman's in Cleveland, a shop that has, unfortunately, closed. - Do you have a favorite place that has closed?

3. Skeetor will be attending college this August. - Read a book set in a school, or with a MAIN character who is a student or teacher.

4. Skeetor's dream vacation is camping in a forest. - Have you been camping? If not, would you go?

5. One way she's creative is landscaping. - Read a book with a garden on the cover (more than just a flower pot). Post the cover.

---------------------------------------------------------

Rules of the challenge
Books must be at least 100 pages in length
Re-reads are fine, as long as you actually read the entire book
Book should be finished within the time-frame of the challenge.
Any format ("dead tree," e-book, audio...) is fine.

If you want acknowledgement that you have completed the challenge you MUST include the date you finished reading each book.

As always, have fun!
.

April M-o-M Challenge – Skeetor
Begins: 01Apr17 / Ends: 30Apr17

2/5

1. Skeetor is fascinated by foreign languages - read a book translated from a language not your own.

✔ 2. Her favorite sandwich was from Goodman's in Cleveland, a shop that has, unfortunately, closed. - Do you have a favorite place that has closed?
- There was also a great German restaurant in Columbus, GA that I loved. It was just like traveling back to Germany. I am so sad that it closed. :(

3. Skeetor will be attending college this August. - Read a book set in a school, or with a MAIN character who is a student or teacher.

✔ 4. Skeetor's dream vacation is camping in a forest. - Have you been camping? If not, would you go?
-I have gone camping a lot and still would love to go. I think at my age though I may invest in a trailer (maybe an R-Pod) instead of the tent. :)

5. One way she's creative is landscaping. - Read a book with a garden on the cover (more than just a flower pot). Post the cover.

April M-o-M Challenge – Skeetor

3 / 5 completed

Our March M.o.M. (Member of the Month) was Skeetor. So this challenge is based on the information she shared about herself.

1. Skeetor is fascinated by foreign languages - read a book translated from a language not your own.

✔ 2. Her favorite sandwich was from Goodman's in Cleveland, a shop that has, unfortunately, closed. - Do you have a favorite place that has closed? - Karl Ratsch's Restaurant just closed this month. It had been in business for decades. Traditional German cuisine. Hubby and I used to go there after a play or symphony concert to enjoy a "German apple pancake" with coffee and brandy.

✔ 3. Skeetor will be attending college this August. - Read a book set in a school, or with a MAIN character who is a student - The Yonahlossee Riding Camp for Girls ✔ - 21Apr17

✔ 4. Skeetor's dream vacation is camping in a forest. - Have you been camping? If not, would you go? - I went camping with my family frequently as a child, and Hubby & I have gone "wilderness camping" once.

5. One way she's creative is landscaping. - Read a book with a garden on the cover (more than just a flower pot). Post the cover.

1. Skeetor is fascinated by foreign languages - read a book translated from a language not your own.
Story of O by Pauline Reage Originally written in French Finished 5/22

2. Her favorite sandwich was from Goodman's in Cleveland, a shop that has, unfortunately, closed. - Do you have a favorite place that has closed?
Several places that were favorites of mine when I was in college have been closed for years...Lums and a taco place that I can't even remember the name of right now (ok, now I remember, Pancho's Villa)...and I would love to eat at either one (or both) of them again.

3. Skeetor will be attending college this August. - Read a book set in a school, or with a MAIN character who is a student or teacher.
Eleanor & Park Rainbow Rowell Both main characters are students. Finished 4/4

4. Skeetor's dream vacation is camping in a forest. - Have you been camping? If not, would you go?
My family went camping all the time when I was a kid. I can still remember my mom washing dishes in a plastic pan when she was pregnant with my youngest brother. No more...I want a private hot shower and 4 walls.

5. One way she's creative is landscaping. - Read a book with a garden on the cover (more than just a flower pot). Post the cover.

Sheila | 532 comments I'm in!

I did it but I had a hard time finding a book in my library that had a garden on the cover.

5/5

1. Skeetor is fascinated by foreign languages - read a book translated from a language not your own.

Someone I Loved by Anna Gavarda (French) Someone I Loved by Anna Gavalda

2. Her favorite sandwich was from Goodman's in Cleveland, a shop that has, unfortunately, closed. - Do you have a favorite place that has closed?

Yes, The Cheese Cellar. They had the best cheese and beer fondue and chocolate fondue. Take both of those and skip the meal in the middle although they did do the best Chicken Marsala.

3. Skeetor will be attending college this August. - Read a book set in a school, or with a MAIN character who is a student or teacher.
V is for Vampire by Adele Griffin. Lexi is a high school student who is running for class president. V is for . . . Vampire (Vampire Island, #3) by Adele Griffin

4. Skeetor's dream vacation is camping in a forest. - Have you been camping? If not, would you go?
Yes, I have been camping. I've been primitive camping and camping in a RV. I prefer a hotel to either. Mostly because the bugs eat me alive. But I do love the smell of a campfire and cooking over a campfire.

5. One way she's creative is landscaping. - Read a book with a garden on the cover (more than just a flower pot). Post the cover. Summer Passions--Michelle McMasters Summer Passions by Michelle McMaster

I didn't think any of these would be terribly difficult to achieve ... but here I am half way through the month and not a single book I've read fits any of these tasks!

Skeetor | 159 comments So sad not to be able to finish my own challenge. I've been traveling and I've also been lucky at the giveaways. I always try to read those first and try as I might, none of them fit into the challenge. :(

Well ... being lucky in the giveaways is a pretty good excuse!
