#668 did some combining.As for all the "Volumes", I see a volume 1 of 2 / volume 1 of 4 / volume 16 / 16 volumes of only 1797, where others have 1769-1802 in one volume; so I didn't combine any of these volumes, as the content of volume 1 of 2 is quite different from volume 1 of 16.

Looks like translators are sometimes being listed as authors as well. Additionally, some searches for various volumes in this set have brought back only the result arabian nights. I havent actually read the thousand nights and a night so I don't know if its the same story with a different title, or why its coming up in the results.
Edit - 835 editions for "arabian nights" - a number of which were called a thousand nights and a night.
V3 for instance has 3/4, 3/16, 3/7 indeed there are two full pages just for volume 3... Its hard to know which are which. Much less which represents the gutenberg edition which I posses.

regarding #679 I corrected the author variant that existed with a date in it. There is a special project going on in removing the dates from the author names. I made a little start with these by working on the profiles of two of the translators.

#692 that link is no longer working, probably fixed in the other thread, as there is/was a date in the author name. It is only creating more work this way by posting in two different threads.

No problem. I'd say just post the combine requests in this thread. When there are multiple author profiles in your search, it has to be checked and corrected anyway which one is the right author profile. That's not only profiles with a date, but also with/without initials or full name, or initials without periods, or titles in author names, or whatever variation that is possible.
Just posting a link to an author profile with a date in the other thread will require much more investigating by a librarian if that is the only profile for this author, and which profiles should be merged.
And as the other thread is in the "Looking for a project" folder: removing a date from a single author can hardly be called a project.
Maybe someone else has a different opinion, but this is my reasoning.

and for the latter, correct the typo in author's name ("Jomes" => "James"), and the language is supposed to be Chinese. ...and I don't think the "(Chinese Edition)" in the title is necessary, right? The book is simply in Chinese and sold in China so nowhere in the book does it say "Chinese Edition."

Update: I found a couple of translators, changed the primary author to anonymous and made the translator secondary.
The combine function is working again, but the combine page for Anonymous times out when I try to reach it. I'll keep an eye on it.
