Please Combine (some more)

As best as I can tell this was printed 1909, reprinted in 10, and 12, and 30. So presumably the ones with dates in the name are reflective of that.
My copy was the 1930 reprint of the 1909 edition.

Near as I can tell most of these variants are just shortenings of the original much longer name.
Edit: most if not all.

A few here too...
Reaching 10000 titles out of 38,774 in my collection.
Getting there!!

Maybe a check of page counts?

#576: Mostly combined; not sure about the Supplement one though.

The supplement is longer than the original book! I'm not sure there either.

Somethings wrong with the second result... Suspect if the title were fixed it could be combined with the first...
Thanks!

Another project for someone :( a one volume, a 5 volume set, a 2 volume set, and multiples of most of them.

Three I think that can be combined.
The fourth result has a date name.

These essays were published mostly in three volumes, sometimes in five, (and once in two volumes), so these all have different content and should not be combined.
#592-593 done

This one may require some work too... Scores with the exact same name and different "authors" by which they may mean editors? Not sure... But there are at least two that can be combined for sure.

I guess there are too few of us that care about clean data.

I suspect many of these are adaptations (can be graphic novel, or easy to read). Adaptations should not be combined with the original book, and have the adapter as primary author.
I'll see what needs to be combined.

For these public domain books, a lot of the editions are added by automated imports. And also for public domain books, there are publishers who don't really care about the publications.
Sometimes there is just no information what the exact content of a book is. Working on them, especially since there are usually a lot of editions, is quite a danting task, and neverending.

- Separated some partial editions (part 1 or part 2) from the complete work.
- Separated some complete works from the partial editions.
- Separated some adaptations from the complete work.
- Separated some original editions from adaptations.
- Combined each with their matching editions.
If you think there are still two editions that needs to be combined, please link to the book page of these two.
Note: for adaptations where the adapter is not known, Jules Verne will still be the primary/only author. When it is known that it is an adaptation, there is a librarian note (visible for librarians on the edit and combine page).

That makes sense Arenda, thanks for the explanation.
I didnt think about books automatically imported. The adaptation situation is complicated also.
Thanks for all the help and explanations!

a few of these could be combineable.
With as many books as I have left to do (~30000) do you think I should be come a librarian? or is it better or faster to post here?

There is always enough to do for librarians. Some prefer to work on their own projects, others respond to threads here in the Librarians Group, or a combination.
Question is if you think you'd like to do it yourself. Don't apply because feeling guilty for the number of requests.
Warning: if you like it, it can become quite addictive.
