Mockingjay
question
Reread the last paragraph in chapter 27 and maybe you will see why Katniss chooses Peeta! Team Peeta or Team Gale?

Peeta and I grow back together. There are still moments when he clutches the back of a chair and hangs on until the flashbacks are over. I wake screaming from nightmares of mutts and lost children. But his arms are there to comfort me. And eventually his lips. On the night I feel that thing again, the hunger that overtook me on the beach, I know this would have happened anyway. That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.
So after, when he whispers "You love me, Real or not real?"
I tell him"Real."

I understand why she couldn't be around Gale anymore. he was potentially responsible for her sister's death. With Katniss' tendency to point the finger and forever hate those responsible for her misery, I understand her inability to be with Gale. And I personally think that Peeta was better for her anyway. He balanced her tenacity. She gave him the nerve to stand up whereas he gave her the calm to think things through when she ordinarily would not.
I was always team peeta and I feel that the ending was done wonderfully. The book wasn't about love it was about tyranny. Love is just a natural part of living. I think the way they ended up together made sense in a realistic way. Love isn't this chorus of angels, and fireworks, and "we are always happy" nonsense Hollywood feeds us. They were two very damaged people who because they shared the damage were able to grow back together and there new growth was intertwined with one another. Gale could have never helped katniss in the way peeta did. Not just because of Prim but because he could not empathize with what she had gone through.
Eh, I don't really know about the whole katniss-peeta thing, but I do hate how they just kinda ditched gale in the end. I think it was kinda a crappy ending, like most series. I mean, the story line was great, but closing it off seems like it was the hard part.
I hate Gale since I read about him for the first time on THG so it's so obvious that I'm team peeta
She chose none of them. Gale gave up. Peeta chose to come back to her and keep her alive. Gale grew up with her, they survived the hunger and the pain togheter while they were children. But the Hunger Games changed them forever. There was a break between them, than can never be repaired. It's obvious that they had always loved eachother, but none of them had to admit it, since the normality for them was to be thogheter, they hat the impression it will always be the same. They never tought something can stand between them. And after the impossible happend, Gale realised that he was losing Katniss and admited his love for her. Katniss would have done just the same, if it was the other way around.
I was team Peeta Gale never was really there and when he was he was not as nice and kind as Peeta and in the end she chose right
At first I was team gale because katniss was dragged into loving peeta but after awhile I noticed that katniss NEEDED peeta and peeta NEEDED katniss.
Not really, In the end she realized who she needed and who she needed was Peeta, not Gale. I will always be team Peeta.
Gale and Peeta taken together represent so closely how I've always felt about the USSA. I left the U.S. because it IS PANEM.
We need thousands and thousands of Gales NOW in the U.S. of A.
As far as the books go, it was always Peeta...
Gale's suppressed rage -- as with Katniss -- can be so toxic...
This is perfect: "reread the last paragraph in chapter 27 and maybe you will see why Katniss chooses Peeta!"

To me, Peeta and Katniss were meant for each other.
Katniss had a life of misery and Peeta loved her to pieces. Katniss had an appreciation for the good things she had in her life, except for Peeta. So, when he was taken over by the Capitol, she lost what she didn't realize she had in the first place. Peeta being taken over was Katniss' turning point. It was then when she realized that Peeta loved her and gave her so much, but she could never have him back.
And that's why I believe Katniss chose Peeta. She wanted to give Peeta every bit of what he could never completely give to her again.

I always felt that Gale was shallow and full of shit from the get go. He had a selfish air about him. Peeta was a wimp but he grew into himself eventually.
I have forever been team Peeta, and for almost the exact reason Katniss is. She needs that innocence and lightness in her life. Her and Gale are just too alike, it doesn't work well, the saying is, opposites attract, and it's true.
Team "She would've been better off as just friends" because let's face it, they get together because they need each other to cope with their own personal trauma. That's not really a healthy basis for a relationship.
Gale was too aggressive to begin with. He probably got over Katniss and went on to lead his own life. Good for him!

I would have loved that part more if she CHOSE Peeta. But sadly, she didn't Gale never came looking for her and Peeta did. I felt like she just justified for being with Peeta in the end. Like I love the last paragraph don't get me wrong, but I think if she chose Peeta herself instead of Gale (not kiss him when they went back to her house to grab her things when Peeta was held hostage) I think that would have been better.

I've always been team Peeta, I just felt like they complimented each other perfectly, he's the positive one, just as this extract shows :) I didn't really feel any chemistry between Katniss and Gale. (Books not movies)
I've always been Team Peeta, like Bookworm has. I loved him from the beginning.
