It becomes the mystery to figure out the identity of Mitch's stepfather. Did you have any early speculation? What were the early clues, if any, that pointed to Hal? Were you surprised it was him?

Yeah. Both Hal and the horse guy were the two very strong contenders, but I picked Hal early on. Since Travis was a morally bankrupted person, I figured that Hal, as his head of security, would also have a very loose association with morality. That was my reasoning.

I didn't like how Hal kept showing up. Why? It just didn't feel right.

I agree both were good suspects but there was also a part of me that thought maybe Mitch's stepfather was tied to Daphne's father some how.

Hal and Stephen Cooper (the horse guy) were on my list because I didn't understand their strong relationship to Daphne. Cooper became less of a viable figure as the story progressed but Hal just got creepier. I also figured Travis or his mother, Nadine, might have figured into the story.
