Yes, I realized Gonzalves was an innocent victim and had to have come across the discarded cesium accidentally.

I never believed it was a terrorist plot so the killer had to dispose of the cesium somehow

It took me a bit to figure out the change in direction. I was still a little mired in the motive. It never occurred to me that the cesium was simply dumped.

I wasn't sure how Gonzalves came into contact with the cesium. I thought he may have stole it from the people who killed Stanley. I really never thought about them dumping the cesium.
