I also think Harry gets exasperated at Edgar's laziness. He does just enough but never goes the extra mile. It was interesting when Harry evaluated all the things Edgar didn't do at the scene, all explainable but just not the best thing to do. You could hear the apology in Edgar's voice when he realized it was going to be Harry's case.

Yes. The impression I got was that once Edgar found out the case was being kicked to Robbery Homicide, he wasn't interested in doing any of the work. When he found out it was Harry's case, he was very apologetic.
