Grant | 25 comments I just finished "Where we belong" By Emily Giffin. I definately liked the story, the author developed the characters well and I liked how the story progressed. It definitely kept my attention, It's a story of making decisions, things happening along with those decisions, but life keeps happening. We wonder sometimes about our decisions, and sometimes we get to see what has happened, stemming from those decisions. I don't want to give too much away, but I enjoyed it and hope you do too if you decide to read it. I gave it 4 stars.....

Lacey New (laceynew) | 3 comments Y'all have to read the Dark Fever series by Karen Moning. It is fantastic. Sci/fi-girl power-paranormalish romance. It's good. No? It's great. If you were a fan of vampire academy I would definitely recommend this one for you.

Completely agree, that series is at the top of my read again and again list!

Joyce Yarrow Thunder Demons Thunder Demons by Dipika Mukherjee is everything a thriller should be, and more.

It is difficult to weave political, personal and multi-cultural themes into a storyline so that each thread is equally convincing and contributes to forming a satisfying whole. Dipika Mukherjee has done exactly that. Her characters are well drawn and complex, enabling the reader to understand the ‘why’ behind even the most extreme of actions. The political and social issues are not merely a backdrop – they are as alive and real as the passionate people who populate this book.

Along the way to the suspenseful and shocking end of this dark, unique, and powerful thriller, I found myself effortlessly absorbing the complex colonial history as well as the deep cultural divides that define Malaysia today.

Maggie I just finished Dance of the Gods by Nora Roberts, book two in the The Circle Trilogy. This is a re-read for me, I loved this book! It's a human kind against vampire book, with witches, wizards, vampires, magic, a shape sifter, great fight scenes and of course a love story.

Mitsy (mitsyc) | 41 comments Hi! Thanks! This is a great thread. I read The Light Who Shines and love it. While it is a book that fits into many different genres - paranormal, sci-fi, thriller, mystery, humor, horror, and romantic suspense - The Light Who Shines is more about respecting what you don't know, working hard, and fighting for what is right. The climax is beautifully horrific and memorable. I can't wait for book 2!! :)

The Light Who Shines (Bluebell Kildare, #1) by Lilo Abernathy

Mitsy (mitsyc) | 41 comments Just finished a YA book, Elixir by Ted Galdi. It's a refreshingly different YA story about a 14-year-old genius who struggles with his intelligence, the effect it has on his life, and "being different". I love it.

Elixir by Ted Galdi

Bogdan Dobrescu (bog13dan) | 1 comments Just finished Hiaasen`s Nature girl.
It`s my second Hiaasen(after Striptease),so the moment i saw it in the shelves of my favorite SH bookstore,i just had to give it a spin. And boy,it reads exactly the same as Striptease! And i don`t know how ,but Hiaasen has a knack for "tying together" all the caracters in a single book+ he makes them so memorable and "righteous".

Jennie Mckeon (jenniemckeon) | 1 comments Just finished "if you asked me" by Betty white. Cute, short read. She's written several books, can anyone suggest a more biographical book of hers?

Mary | 14 comments Just finished From dead to worse by Charlaine Harris. Although silly, I find these books to be very entertaining and I wish I had discovered these sooner.

Rachael Vicary | 4 comments I just finished the mortal instruments series, the books were so amazing I could not stop reading and stayed up many very late nights to finish. The city of heavenly fire (6th & final book) was especially action packed. There are plenty of strong characters to love or hate and while certain plot points had me screaming throughout the series I am very excited to read more from the author which is not always the case for me.

Emily | 68 comments I just finished The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender. It had the most amazing writing! It was very beautiful and tragic but it left me with a few too many questions at the end.

This is one of those series that you can't stop reading.

Joyce Yarrow I just finished The Palace of Illusions and here is my review:

A marvelous tale, that takes us deep into the Indian epic, 'The Mahabharata,' as told from the perspective of Princess Panchaali. The princess is married to 5 husbands, while secretly in love with someone else, and plays an unsought for but vital role in a war that changes the face of ancient India.

By adding the feminine point of view, the author brings new life to a very old story.

Chitra Divakaruni weaves a spell of mythology, history and illuminates the universal themes of duty vs. desire, war vs. peace in her own unique and beautifully written way.

I just finished Hush, Hush, and thought it was alright. Very much geared towards Young Adult readers, but enjoyable nonetheless. I found the idea of angels as romantic partners interesting.

Melissa | 4 comments Just finished reading "The Hedge Fund Wives". This book is a quick easy read that gives you a look into the lives of couples who have worked their way to wealth and think they have it made until it all comes bra shying down. It is a game of the survival of the fittest. Started it last night and finished it today. Let's you dream about how the other half lives.

amber (thelittlematchgirl) | 11 comments I read Euphoria. I love the way King puts words together. But I'm just middle of the road on the story itself.
