ABANDONED. Book about a red haired girl named callie whose selective mute cousin visits

In the beginning of the book we are introduced to callie who comes out to find her mother sitting at the table with a cup of coffee. She is told her cousin will be visiting and she paints a room yellow as a surprise. Callie is informed that her cousin has stopped speaking due to her parents seperation. Towards the end of the book her cousin explodes in anger and actually speaks. This is all I remember unfortunately
