Yes, definitely short in comparison.
I would feel tall next to you but if I.stand next to a guy over 6' I feel short.

R, have you read The Hating Game? It seems like a lot of heroines are short, but with Lucy it was a definite part of her characterization.

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Not yet! It's on my TBR and in one of these challenges we're doing. It's another one I've been on the fence about because I don't "typically" like romcoms, but I own a paperback.

I think 5'6" is perfect, I just need to make sure I don't refer to her as short anywhere.

agreed. I feel short standing with my husband and brothers... they are all over 6ft... I think average height for a woman in the US is 5-4. My daughter is 5-10.

message 1005: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments It is 5'4". That's why I said my height is perfectly average. :)

message 1006: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I just looked it up. 5'4" it is then!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I've read that 5"4' is average in the US.

6'4" is really tall. Basketball height tall.

message 1008: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments It's also JD's height and he was the inspiration for Darian so we're just going to have to be okay with this Fabi... :D

Average American Women Weight and Height.

message 1010: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 09, 2017 09:01PM) (new)

Lol. When I used average I was more or less thinking on a measurement line. If you lined up women from 5' to 6' I'd fall in the middle.
But for a shortish heoine, then yes 5'4 would be good.

And if anybody questions it I can say, well at least he doesn't have a beard! :D

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments This is cool:

America: 166.2 pounds and 5 feet 4 inches
Brazil: 137.8 pounds and 5 feet 2.2 inches
Chile: 148.8 pounds and 5 feet 2 inches
Germany: 148.8 pounds and 5 feet 5 inches
South Korea: 124.6 pounds and 5 feet 2 inches
Sweden: 147 pounds and 5 feet 5.7 inches
The UK: 152.1 pounds and 5 feet 4.4 inches

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments OMG bev. I'm LOL'ing so hard right now. That's just math...

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Who is JD? I'm telling S!!!

message 1016: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments S is fully aware of his place, and come on...you aren't really going to make me say it again are you? It rhymes with Posh Buhmel.

message 1017: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments *shakes head at Fabi* It's like you've never even stalked my Pinterest.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments You have a Pinterest? :-o

Another one of those social media platforms that I don't have an account for.

message 1019: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments LOL I know! Only for my book inspiration.

message 1020: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments But you should be able to see it either way. It has houses/cars/cast etc. https://www.pinterest.com/robinhillwr...

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I do see a lot of pictures but I'm not sure they're all yours. It's asking to log in. Bah! I can barely keep up with GR and Maryse's. I'd rather read a novel than spend all my free time surfing the Internet.

message 1022: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments You'd know if they were mine. That's weird. I didn't think pinterest would ask for that. I'll email you a few of the pics to the chapter your up to.

message 1023: by [deleted user] (new)

Is Fabi your beta reader?

What if she wants to change the title?

message 1024: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments LOL There is no changing the title because it's a Doors song. That would be a deal breaker for me with a publisher. The cover...IDK, but the title? No way Jose.

I had a group of betas for my first round. Fabi's the only one reading the edits. Fabi and my husband but he's only useful 50% of the time!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments No worries. Robin had awesome titles and covers!!!

message 1026: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments A writer friend of mine just got signed and they told her she would have to change her H's name and I would die. I've lived with Darian and Francesca for YEARS. I don't think I could do it!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments btw Bev, I'm at 26% of Promises and loving it! Soooo much better than Strawberries.

message 1028: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol, I loved Strawberries.

It'd be funny if I then hated Promises.

message 1029: by [deleted user] (new)

That must be exciting for your friend.

Francesca always makes me think of that old show Sisters with Sela Ward.

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments bev wrote: "That must be exciting for your friend.

I remember that show but I don't remember that name. It reminds me of my neighbors son's girlfriend, probably because she brings her up all the time.

IDK if my friend is excited. She's been self publishing for years and is so busy this just seemed like a good route for her. Everything is taken care of, but you lose a lot of control. They have input and final say on everything as well as price. When you see books by new writers that are higher, chances are they're signed.

WOW! They're making it look like an average American woman is obese at 166 pounds just by looking at the picture progression of countries....

message 1049: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Jean, I will suggest books between each though. I'm glad I read them as they came out, because it is insane. Also, if you need to vent, we're here. Tony makes me swear. A lot. And stab people. A lot. Especially people named Tony.

message 1050: by Jean (new)
