message 702: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Yes, stat!!! I think a Hunger Like No Other is free or super cheap. And the bed breaking scene is WAY HOTTER in that than in Twilight. Heehee.

message 705: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Bev, I have a complicated relationship with YA. Some I love, most I can't tolerate. :(

Nothing was wrong with Simon, I was listening to audio...then I ended up stumbling on a spoiler (I found out who wrote email) and I ditched it. I've told you this...I can't believe you forgot!

I am voting for Me Before You, but ONLY if you want to cry a whole heck of a lot...but it is so good. I have The Bird and the Sword on my TBR, but I'm more than afraid to start it. I don't generally do fantasy because it requires me to think too much and I'm skeered I won't "get" it.

I'd rather poke out my eyeballs than read Me Before You, so my vote is The Bird and the Sword even though I have no clue what uts about.

message 714: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I don't think I love anything more than Shouty ELA

message 715: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Yes Leslie, you should try Bird and the Sword.....it's not my typical genre either Leslie, but I totally loved it!!! You will "get it"!

Grey, I've read both and I would still go with Bird and the Sword!

I love shouty Ela! Oh, and I'll be meeting Tony next.....starting Consequences today!

message 716: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments .... munching on popcorn..,,

Tony Fucktard put a girl in a coma??? Do I need to read this book???

message 717: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Me Before You was like watching Hallmark Channel for three days straight.

message 718: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments lol You all are fun this morning. Yes! Bird and the Sword. MBY is on my HELL THE FUCK NO list.

I'm not into M/M and I liked Wolfsong. The dynamics were just right that they were truly equal so I didn't get all icky from a male "bottom". (Seriously, that's my issue. Submissive men creep me out when reading about them. IRL, nope. But in books, NOPE!)

I think I'm dropping Jean and putting you in her place as "we mostly agree on books" friend

message 721: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments lol And we both despise MBY and think Tony is pure evil. (Seriously first book, beginning, in the limo. You can't become redeemable after that!)

message 722: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Erm, despise the C book. Wow this is what happens when I'm sleepy. Stupid tummy aches!

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Michelle wrote: ".... munching on popcorn..,,

...sticking hand in popcorn and nodding....you DO need to read the Consequences series. It has 3 main books, and 2 Behind His Eyes books that give his POV. It's a bit dark, but mostly in an "oh hell no he didn't, and she couldn't/wouldn't way".

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Consequences is 4 book series! Ick. Ain't nobody got time for dat!

Sounds like Captive in the Dark, which I liked.

I think I'm over girl gets taken by a crazy guy & held against her will books. Torn From You filled that slot for this year!

See this is totally DIFFERENT! YOU CANNOT COMPARE CONSEQUENCES TO Captive and it's really mostly 3 book series...

message 734: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I still need to read the 3rd Consequences book. Oh, and those 2 extras too.

Whoever hasn't read it--I don't think any other 'simlilar' storylines compare to it or to Tony. There may be some things in common, but from what I remember, this is in a class all by itself!

message 735: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I loved Captive in the Dark. What's the next best one besides that? Sorry if I already missed this answer. You guys talk a lot when I'm sleeping.

message 736: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Yeah, Captive in the Dark seemed very light compared to Consequences. I literally would set the book down, walk around and rant to anyone near me.

Renee, I agree. The only similarity was they were both taken against their will. After that... Yeah. Captive was almost sweet. You knew he was alright. Consequences? HELL NO! Tony is pure evil. Like, set your book down, go to a random neighbor, and start cursing this guy out to them. (alright, never a neighbor, by niece got an ear full.)

Yes, but apparently not small enough for her to go, "hey, let me hook you up with backstage passes..." :D

message 744: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments I think I have Captive in the Dark (or is it Consequences?) on my pick-for-me list. Huh, it's been a while since I've read that type of book.
