I'm going to email you these just to double check I'm not crazy! And I do see the stupid gerunds. Forgot about those. There were a lot of sentences that started with them in this book, but I didn't notice any dangling ones.

Ok. Confession time. I've NEVER read any CoHo. *blushes* Better get on that, right?

Just sent it back, Robin, but I'll save you the trouble of reading it. You were correct--they were all ERRORS!

Oy. I was hoping I was wrong.

Leslie | 2430 comments Jan, what's really cool is that Slammed & Its Ends With Us are so completely different...all that they have in common is that they are fabulous. They also happen to be my personal two Coho faves!

message 206: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ok, I am tackling my book buddy challenge!

Starting Robin's 5 star - The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott

Yeah they're both on my tbr pile. I'll get there eventually......

Leslie | 2430 comments Ok, I'm doubled fisted right now with this challenge. I just discovered that Off the Record (Record, #1) by K.A. Linde audio is free with KU!!! Thats my pick for Tessa. So I'm listening to that one & reading Robin's The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott (which I am loving as much as Rush)

I knew you would! I think as far as swoon goes, we're totally on the same page!

message 211: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments :D Enjoy both of them!

message 212: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments I had to edit my post when I realized that the first two people on the list didn't get copied/pasted from my computer doc. :/ I figured it out when Etched in Bone wasn't on there, and I finally own it so I can read it.

message 213: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Yippee! My first book was a hit!!! Robin's fave The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott - 4.5 stars.

I loved both the MC's and it was a big ole swoonfest. The only thing I knew about this going in was (view spoiler) I also really loved (view spoiler) This is CR perfection for me. (Although I think I still like Rush a smidge better. I love grumpy heros)

Such a refreshing change from angry, angst-filled romance books. It was sweet and beautiful, heart-warming, and heart-aching! And I agree, I prefer my Noah from Rush, but just because I love a grumpy asshole bestest!!!

message 215: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Lisa, what I loved was that although it was heart aching in some parts it was not overly depressing or ugly cry inducing. It made me teary but not wanting to hurl myself off cliff.

message 216: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Yay Leslie!!! OMG I can't wait for you to read Sugar & Gold then! I think you guys are gonna looooove Nik!

That may be one of my favorite scenes in all of her books! But the one that comes right after?? My first thought was "who are you and what did you do with Emma Scott?" Let's just say my laptop started smoking.

I don't have an ARC, I have a beta that I get in chapters, sometimes the same chapter multiple times. I LOVE getting to watch her process, but I'm jealous that you get to read it cover to cover in its final form!! Still, I wouldn't trade the experience. I miss "reading" her books, but as a wannabe writer, I feel like I'm being trained by the best, and nothing beats that.

I totally get that...there is something to be said about being able to read from cover to cover. I helped a friend with a book and it was the same way, chapter by chapter, sometimes over and over again...so by the time the book was published I was tired of it already!

It's definitely a trade off, but a good one. I just keep holding out hope the FDA will release that amnesia pill they have for public consumption. Then I can do both!

message 221: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Another book-win! Yippee!!!

Tessa, I loved Off the Record Off the Record (Record, #1) by K.A. Linde

I can't wait to finish series and see how it all pans out.

*squeee* I'm glad you liked it. I absolutely loved the whole series.

message 223: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I've added my new book buddy Niki to my list and chose one of her faves:

Only for you Only for You (For You, #1) by Genna Rulon

message 231: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Didn't you have a chat with her??? Can I be spoilerish?

message 232: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments I did. I don't think she believes me.

message 233: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments My new GR book rec: Man of the Year by Lou Cove

What a cover huh???

message 234: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments What the... So it thinks you are into really 60 year old men from the seventies? With um, sorry. Look at his crotch area. WTF?

message 235: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments LMAO

message 236: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) *snorts* That cover is outstanding. Hilarious. At least the daily GR recs keep us entertained. And it's a bit scary to think that the fashionable man once dressed like that. *shudders*

message 237: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments What to read? What to read? Finished Consequences and read a little "fluffy" predictable book, think I am going to give Lev (Shot Callers, #1) by Belle Aurora - Grey's 5* on my list

message 238: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments That one looks good, Paula!!

message 239: by Tessa (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
oh, so Good!!

message 242: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I am hoping to get to a few off my list this month.

On the schedule is:

Grey's - The King The King (The Original Sinners White Years, #2) by Tiffany Reisz
Michelle's - After Hours After Hours by Cara McKenna

message 243: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I think I am in a reading funk. The last 3 books I tried are not holding my interest.

Michelle, I think I am going to switch my pick for you as I cant get into After Hours by Cara McKenna . Part of problem is narration is kind of sucky. :(

Perhaps: Love, in Spanish (Love, in English, #1.5) by Karina Halle or The Virgin (The Original Sinners White Years, #3) by Tiffany Reisz

message 244: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments This is why you should try The Bird and the Sword! And then you can join in on The Queen and the Cure

message 245: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Oh yes - Bird and Sword was amazing writing, great story...and Queen and Cure is just as flipping fantastic!!!

message 246: by Nay (last edited May 16, 2017 12:43PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Leslie--I agree. You should really give The Bird and the Sword and the The Queen and the Cure (which I loved even more!) a try!

Just wanted to do an update on what I've read from my Leslie's Book Buddy Challenge List. So far, I've completed:

Amy's The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
Maryse's The Opposite of You (Opposites Attract, #1) by Rachel Higginson
Tessa's Deviant (Blood & Roses, #1) by Callie Hart

and I've read about 15% of

Ela's A Necessary Sin (The Sin Trilogy, #1) by Georgia Cates

I better get on the stick! Have lots left to read and I just noticed that Easy Virtue is on my list.

message 247: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I love all these different challenges! It takes the stress out of what to read next. Even if book doesnt turn out to be a 5 star, its ok because it just reduces the tbr mountain.

message 248: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I agree Leslie!!! I love it!

message 249: by Nay (last edited May 16, 2017 02:00PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I'm loving this Georgia Cates book, and the bad boy mafia hero, Sin, is SO sexy! I don't know why I waited so long to read it because I enjoyed the books I read from her Beauty series. Her writing is both smart and sexy, and her books are well edited, so that's a huge bonus for me.

Leslie--that's so true!

message 250: by Ela (new)
