I often read a couple of books at a time and like you Dorie I mix them up. But in April I read The Woman in the Window and Manhattan Beach. Both main characters are named Anna! So I found it a bit hard to keep them straight.

I have books in different rooms of the house, one in the car for doctor appointments, read one on my tablet and one on my phone
I always have one audiobook, one physical book and two or more ebooks going at the same time. Most are fiction.
I have always just read one book at a time, but a friend opened me up to the world of e-books and audiobooks so now I read about 2-3 books at a time. A paper and an audiobook and occasionally an e-book also!
I'm supposed to be reading 7 books now, but in fact I've stalled a couple of them. In reality I'm reading 3 books.
I find multiple books gets confusing on keeping the characters, etc. straight. I've done it a couple of times when I'm reading nonfiction and a fiction book, but usually when I'm reading nonfiction, I'm also making notes, so that helps.
I love reading multiple books. If one gets too slow, then I switch. As far as losing my place (I am not talking about physical), I will read a page or two back to regain the plot, characters and pace.
Pamela, that's why you never read multiple books of the same series at the same time unless the stories are set at vastly different times. Never, for example, read Thrawn at the same time as its upcoming sequel but you CAN read Thrawn while reading the omnibus edition of Lost Tribe of the Sith, for example.
I usually read on at a time. Since I started reading e-books I read one of those and one physical book in hand. And I read 1-2 pages that I've already read to refresh myself with the plots.
I may be reading anywhere from 1 to 4 books at a time. Also, sometimes I open the book and GR shows it as 'reading' but I haven't really started it -- I was just checking formatting or something.
All of you are rank amateurs! Seriously. I always have at least 3 at all times, but today I have 9. https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...All kidding aside, you ladies and gentlemen could do this too if (aside from your radio) you had no other method of entertaining yourself on a daily basis once your allotted time on the internet at the public library is over for the day, had no cable, couldn't afford more than two or three movies a year at the local movie house and were on SSI.
And now I have books on my overdrive that I listen to at work, I can only listen to one at a time but I have a few on there so when one is done than I can go on to the other. And with being on my own for the next week, I should get a few books in lol
I almost always read multiple books at a time; the number mostly depends on how many challenges I'm participating in and how many books I have rented from the library.
Most of the time I read at least two books at a time; one on my Kindle and one a physical book. However, right now I am reading four books. They are generally in different genres. The four I am currently reading are a mystery, a romantic suspense, a gardening book, and a memoir. I read more of the fiction books, but I try to read some in all of them each day when time permits.
I take so many books out on hold that I can barely keep up to be honest. Sometimes it gives my brain the rest that it requires especially with some heavy content. Usually the books have to be close or opposite genres for me at least. I have so much to learn about writing styles and the final work from editors that I like to read multiple. Sometimes it does take away from one story if you are unable to full manage both plot lines. (I am so guilty of re-reading a novel, I can barely remember). Not really that big of a deal. But I try my hardest.
I always have three books going at once. A physical book, an audio-book and an e-book. I can see there is some argument here about what constitutes a real book, but they all three count for me. Using the different media helps me keep the stories separate, but I also try to keep the genre or time period different as well. It helps me read a pretty good variety.
I did not read multiple until this past couple of months. I don't like it. I want to see one book read before moving on. Seems like it slows down my progress. Yet - I have 4 or more currently reading/listening to. Ugh.
I listen to a audiobook and a book or a ebook at the same time. That is as much I can do at one time
Now that I read a lot of e books,I keep adding them to my currently reading shelf and keep returning to to them from time to time. Now there are 50 there.
Yes I read multiple books at a time. Real books that is. I don't have a problem jumping in between books.
I typically have one book on my kindle, one on my tablet, a physical fiction book, and occasionally, I add in a physical non-fiction book. Most of the time, I try to keep the genres/sub-genres mixed.
I’m reading 5 books two audio, two ebooks, one physical book two books are buddy reads, and the others are personal books.
I usually end up reading one book physically and listening to one book, usually while I'm driving to or from work or to the girlfriends house. Though at max I have read almost 4 at once.
I have 70 books on my currently reading shelf right now.If one gets boring,I start another. But GR does remind me to keep getting back to them and I generally finish most of those I start.
I usually listen to a book and read a book at the same time, so I won't get confused, which if you know me that is easy!
Haha i am so glad to see that someone else does this, too. I have like 14 books in motion at the same time and somehow always end up starting a new one.
I am usually only reading one physical book and an audiobook every once in while I might have a nonfiction going at the same time or a manga.
Yes! Since Goodreads and having been introduced to so many great books. And non ficiton for health and well being so I tend to have that aspect.. AND audio in the car, or when I am alone at home. Many at once!
I see I am not the only one. I also have an audiobook in the car and a physical book next to my bed.

Unless it is a very long book, I will usually read more than one book at a time. I used to not do this because I wanted to focus on one book, but now I'm finding that there is a nice balance when you have a few reads going at once, especially if the books are different genres.
I read maybe 3~4 books at a time. It’s a mix of physical and digital copies. Different genres, though.
I just started listening to audiobooks last year and now I'll have a print book going and an audiobook going. I've never had two book going at the same time, before this.
Usually two books at once, not counting audibles of which I have several going at the same time as can only listen to same voice for just so long and I walk two hours every morning.
I'm going to try to read 4 at once, a couple of chapters per book per day, I think the choice of titles will have to be quite different to stop me getting mixed up. There is no reason that our brains can't single out each book, we did it in college or high school so why not now?
