SOLVED. Looking for teen series from eighties-Tara was a main character. [s]

This was a teen book series and one of the characters was a redhead named Tara. One of the main characters has a girlfriend named Claudia who maybe a southern belle. She is sophisticated. I cannot rem ember any of the other characters names.

This would have come out in the eighties or maybe the early nineties. Any help appreciated.
