Whitney | 7 comments I owned a copy of this book when I was a kid because both my mom and grandma worked in the school system. Somehow it was lost along the way but I am in search of a new copy for my daughter. The book has such beautiful pics! Thank you!

About when were you a kid? Are the pictures drawings, paintings, photos? Was this in the U.S.?

Whitney | 7 comments This was early 90's. My apologies that I didn't mention that. If I recall correctly, the pics were drawn or painted but they looked exactly like the real thing. There were only about 7 pages or so but again, this book was very tall and oversized.

The whole book only had 7 pages? Was this something that only the teachers had access to, like a teaching manual rather than a textbook?

message 6: by Whitney (new)

Whitney | 7 comments Exactly. It was a hardback, oversized, very tall book, and if I'm not mistaken, this was a book used by teachers for demonstrations and learning. Each page focused on a different type of animal, i. e. reptiles, mammals, birds, insects, etc etc. And there were a limited number of pages. Beautiful pics! They looked so real!

This Scholastic book is a long shot, but I'll mention it just in case you're interested -- Record-Setting Animals by Melinda Burgener.

Whitney | 7 comments I never found it unfortunately. I’ve asked fellow teachers and listed it on other sites but to no avail 😕
