I'm trying to remember a book I read in elementary school, so sorry if this is a bit vague.

I remember two boys being in it, one being native and it taking place in Africa. I remember the cover being black or dark coloured with either the face of a Leopard or an Jaguar on the front with flowers.

I'm also trying to remember if the native boy was possessed or driven insane and something of a mountain (Like Kilimanjaro or something).

Again, I apologize for the vagueness of this book,but I'm trying to remember it after about 20 years.
