I remember this book well though not the title. The wife was either Cassie or Cassandra and it is definetly chick lit. Her husband leaves her for another woman (I hope I am spelling Suzette right) and Cassie has to learn how to be happy independent of him. I think this was early to mid eighties at the latest if anyone has any idea.

I don't think that's it but thank you. I read this a long time ago. Not a series..I do not remember where it takes place but do remember she runs into the woman her husband left her for and realizes she is nothing like what her mind had invented. It was a good book about family but I don't have to much more info to offer. It would have been written early to mid eighties and no information about the cover.
Am bumping this up in hopes someone may know the name of it. It was a contemporary book involving family/divorce. First read in the eighties or very early nineties.The wife finds her husband has been having an affair with someone whose name I think is Suzette. She is described as being "stern looking" or "severe looking". The wife's name maybe Cassie or Cassandra and when she meets the mistress she can't get over the fact that she (the mistress) isn't beautiful. I know the kids play a big role as well and if I am not mistaken they knew about the affair.

About a couple where the wife discovers husband is cheating..contemporary..mistress is Suzette.
At one point the wife meets the mistress and is stunned to see she isn't pretty. There's also alot of stuff about their life at home and the husband does wind up leaving the wife. I thought knowing the name of the mistress might make it easier to find.
