Kel Cadence Kim | 3 comments I read this book most likely 6-10 years ago, and it should be in a middle school reading level (YA).
What I remember is that the main plot is about a boy who is running or hiding from the government. Along the way, he meets an asian girl (Chinese I believe) who only has one arm. I also remember her name being Mouse or Mice? It could be another M name. Despite only having one arm, she was good at treating people as a nurse. She was a very blunt, direct character and was cold towards the boy because of everything she had experienced in the past. I do not remember if she is in the book for a long time but she's the most specific character I remember.
They might be trying to escape into a different society but this could be me merging different books together.
The only thing I remember distinctly is the asian girl with one arm.

I've tried everything and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
