Good job Joseph! I have found that waiting is worthwhile. Several times I have been tempted to buy a book new, then found it used for $1.00. Some people just buy new books, read them, then discard them - for us bibliophiles!

I bought Acheron in paper back but the Hardback book was $1 a couple weeks later I was so mad.
Yeah, that's the way I look at it. There are some series that I can't wait to read. If the new book comes out in hardcover, I'll buy it from Amazon since they have the best deals, usually around 34% off. If the new one comes out in paperback, I'll get it from Borders since Amazon doesn't do deals on paperbacks and I can usually use a 25 or 30% off coupon from Borders. Any old books I'd like to add to my collection I try not to buy them new from the bookstores, I don't usually want them so bad that I can't wait and see if I can get lucky and buy them for less than a buck at some used book sale.
Ok, just got home from work and getting my haircut and I have SIX new books! From the weeding at my library I've bought four more books on law and forensics and another cookbook. My barber has a bookshelf where customers can donate books to be read there or can take home for free any books that interest them. Today I grabbed from the shelf Love at First Bite. All for a total of 2 dollars. Not bad, huh? :-)
Ugh well I fell off the wagon. It lasted for about a week. I went to borders yesterday. I didn't bring my coupon cause I didn't expect to go. I was able to tell them I left it at home and they gave me the 40& off anyway.
Well I went to the shops today and could not help myself, I picked up "Poison Study" by Maria V Snyder as I have been hearing some really good things about this book, and "Wings" by Aprilynne Pike, I haven't read a book yet about faeries so it will be good to read something different, and lastly the second book in the Odd Thomas series "Forever Odd" by Dean Koontz
Demon's Fire by Emma Holly arrived Monday. Not sure why I succumbed to insanity and bought 3 books from Borders online last week. Still waiting on The Rivals: Settler's Mine and Soul Bonds. I will not visit Borders.com again this month, I swear!
Just bought paperback of "Other Queen" by Phillipa Gregory at Sam's for $9.53 was hoping her new book "White Queen" would be there. Saw it at Borders for 30% off Hardback.
Well Fishpond sent me a free $10.00 gift voucher to spend so I could not pass that by and I got the second and third book in the Yelena Zaltana series "Magic Study" and "Fire Study" to go with "Poison Study" that I bought last week.I also bought "Destined for an Early Grave".
Good choice with the study series :D There are only a few authors you can't go wrong with and thats Maria V. Snyder, J.R. Ward, and Richelle Mead. Others don't really come to mind right now but you get the jist :P
I can't wait to read them Kyle they sound very good, have you read them yet? And have you started the Georgina Kincaid series yet?
Bought my last and actually only planned book of the month. Used a 25% off coupon to get Living with the Dead from Borders. So that makes 29 new books for me this month, so far. Oy vay. :-)
Well thanks to LooLoo who introduced me to another great online book resource, I ordered/bought 6 books yesterday! So for those who are intersted, the website is: www.bookdepository.com! But make sure you leave enough for the rest of us addicts!:)

Susan, holy cow! I was just looking at Book Depository and saw I could have got that paperback I bought yesterday for FIFTY percent off?!? And free shipping?!? How can they do that?!? I think I might just return it to Borders and buy it through this website.

Hey I'm here for ya Joseph! LOLWell I went and did it again! I went to 2 used bookstores and looked online and could not find the next 2 Anita Blake books I need, so back to bookdeposity I went and bought em for 50% off!!:) So that's at least 8 for me so far this month!
Boy, Susan, what a troublemaker you are. ;-) I did order the book from Bookdepository. It should probably be here with in a week I think, and then I will return the other one to Borders. Even with it being 25% off from there, 50% is better.
Well I have to share the troublemaking!:) Can't be the only one to fall for it ;) I think that's going to be a great new website tho for our addiction ;) Will definitely be interested to see how long it takes to get all the books!
Karen - I've read all of mead's books and all of maria v snyders except their recently released ones but i'm halfway thru blood promise already and I got yesterday :P
Good day all. Queen here to announce yesterday I picked up "Afternoons with Emily" by Rose MacMurray at a dollar store. Note sure when I will get to read it but it sounds interesting. Is this on anyones read/to-read list?
I picked up "The Myth Of You And Me"(I will start reading tonight) in addition to "The Prophet". Has anyone read "The Myth Of You And Me"?
Ok, that does it! I am not succumbing to the siren call of coupons from Borders any more, (at least this month)! ;-) I just got home from Borders with two more new books which brings my total for books purchased this month to 35. How'd you guys make out this month? Better or worse, depending how you look at it? lol
well im pretty much not going out tonight. so i made it the whole weekend with out buying any books. YAY me! i think my total this month was only 12 so i think i did pretty good.
Well, I did better than usual. 8 books for $4.00, one small paperback from Borders with a 40% coupon, and 2 from Sam's one was a small paperback under $5. and one large that was about $9. (most expensive Phillipa Gregory bk).About $20.00 and some tax!
i did great, i only bought 3 books this month. i'm so happy with myself. now to worry about this coming month, will i be so strong.
The first of the month and already the Borders' coupons have sucked me back in. I got sent a $5 Borders bucks coupon plus a %30 off coupon and ended up basically getting National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America, Fifth Edition for half price. One book down, who knows how many to go? lol
Well Susan, I've only got two planned to buy this month, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. :-)
