Bio:
Audrey grew up, spending most of her free time with Tomas Parker, her best friend. She helped Tomas's raise his younger sister, because lets face it, girls gotta have girls to look up to. Audrey helped Tomas train in a bit of hand to hand combat, becoming his 'partner in crime' in a sense. Growing up with only brothers in her family, and hanging out with Tomas alot, she became very competitive, always challenging the boys and pushing herself to the limit. She can hold her ground against any guy, not always winning, but always leaving a good impression, letting them know she is a force to be reckoned with.
Audrey puts up with the all perks and downsides of Tomas, after all he is her best friend. She is always eager to help Tomas with a task, and has developed a bit of liking towards him, but never has told him because she doesn't want him to take it the wrong way, or send herself into a guilt trip. ∞ Intimacy. Kai is a rather intimate person. He loves being close to others, whether that be in the bedroom or otherwise. When it comes to romantic relationships his actions can be rather surprising. Being that he is not too skillful with technology the man generally tends to be someone who writes out handwritten love notes. Even a poem or two. He is more prone to work on an entire song for them with just his violin. Sometimes he attempts to sing, but only if he truly wants to embarrass himself. Just from the way he speaks he is entirely poetic. When it comes to his friends too his loving nature always shows itself as he constantly expresses how much he loves them and how much they mean to him. Still, at the academy he has been separated from a great group of his friends so he has toned himself down a bit.

Usually, at the academy, Kai can be seen skipping down the hallways, and humming numerous symphony tunes. This pretty much represents who he is - an unapologetically himself person, who is filled with energy and forever obsessing over music and dance- and of course battle and strategic thoughts too.

In life one extreme challenge Kai has faced is suffering from prosopagnosia. This resulted from an accident in his early childhood years. The diagnosis is known in terms as "face blindness" - while he can make out the features of someone's face he can never connect it to a name or experiences. In fact he could be talking to you one second, look away another, and then look back the next and have no idea who you are. For a long time up until his teenage years he struggled with this, but figured everyone dealt with the same problem. When he discovered it wasn't something everyone goes through, nor a hurdle that anyone else he knew was faced with he began to become distressed and angry. For years he would mistake random people as his teachers, and the fact he couldn't even remember the faces of his family that was growing even larger by the minute aggravated him even more. Occasionally his problem still annoys him, but he's also benefitted from it as he has grown up to be an optimistic individual.

Growing up in an all encompassing family (as his mother had the tendency to pick up just about every kid off the streets) he grew up with a rather interesting background. He differentiated his siblings by their skin tones as well as their little tells that he eventually learned from. Being one of the older children he had lots of responsibilities as well. One of them was cooking- something he still prides himself on

Bio: Lucy doesn't necessarily have parents who neglect her or force her to live up to certain expectations. She lives life the way she feels she's supposed to, and her family supports her in any way they can. The only thing tragic about her life was when she lost her little sister in an accident when Lucy was eight and her sister was six. The two of them were playing in the field outside their small home when a group of horsemen came out of nowhere. They didn't see the little girls until it was too late, and while Lucy got knocked lightly in the head with a hoof, resulting in her scar, her little sister didn't fair so well. She ended up passing away, and ever since then Lucy has been a bit of a ditz. She always tends to misplace things or forget about important things, and she constantly likes to spontaneously twirl around and dance as if nobody's watching. She's perfectly content with being strange, even though she's fully aware that others tend to stay away from her because of it.
Reason: There's really no other reason for entering other than she thought it sounded like fun.
Other: She's terrified of horses.



Bio: Damen is a rather...strange character. He has this unusual fascination with water, even despite the fact it's his element. He just likes water. Swimming in ponds, standing out in the rain, even drinking water. It just makes him feel calm and relaxed. There have been many, many times when he's had to have loved ones pull him out of nasty rain storms because he just loves standing outside in the middle of them, listening to the raindrops "sing" to him.
He's a bit odd, certainly, but he's also a really relaxed young man. He doesn't typically let things get to him that easily, unless he has some sort of strong, emotional connection to an individual or a situation going on. So if you go up and punch him, he might be surprised, but he's more likely to smile and give you a hug than to punch you back. Unless you've done something to really piss him off.
When he was six, Damen and his twin sister were playing on a small bridge near their home, and unknown to them the wood had begun rotting in the middle. Damen was chasing after his sister when his foot went through the middle plank and he fell through, breaking his left leg. It didn't set quite right when it healed, so now he walks with a permanent limp that slows him down even more than usual on cold or rainy days.
When he was about 19, Damen's sister ended up passing away from an illness, and the loss rocked his world. Not only that, but there are stil some hard feelings between Damen and his sister's fiance. Damen doesn't usually try to avoid people, but this man he goes out of his way to not have to deal with him.
Reason for Entering: Not his idea. At all. Despite his limp, his parents pressured him to enter the Gauntlet because they thought it would give him a direction in his life, but he already knows what-and who-he wants in his future, and it's not winning some race he's not even sure he can run in.

Gillian's mother was a woman who was beautiful, from a poor family but nonetheless, she was charming. She met a man named Aaron as she worked at an establishment selling alcohol. He was a frequent customer, and one night he had a little too much to drink and invited the woman to bed with him. The offer was accepted, the woman thinking that they shared mutual affections for each other, but after that one night, Aaron never returned by her side. She found out soon after that he was already betrothed to another, and married a woman named Clarice. How foolish she must have felt, to sleep with such a man, her shame forced her to disappear but she couldn’t hide what happened that night. Especially when her stomach began to grow, the baby living within her was Aaron's child and she couldn't bear to face him. The woman gave birth to a baby boy nine months later and painfully went to Aaron's household to seek shelter. Her time as a pregnant woman had forced her to lose her job, her income and she had no means by which she could care for the child. With a few panicked knocks at the door, Aaron opened it and stood before her, his features had somewhat changed but it was the same man nonetheless. By his initial reaction, she knew he recognized her and she began to explain that the swaddled baby in her arms was his own son. He balked at her comments, and pretended not to know her but she knew that this baby would die in her care without a proper living. She forced the baby onto Aaron and fled, without looking back she prayed that the baby would be safe, for no human could ever disown their own child.

At one glance Aaron saw the similarity of his own face in the child's, as well as his mother's, the woman who ran away. He had to act quickly, his wife would become curious and wonder where he had gone. He ran to the back and made preparations to do away with the child when his wife, Clarice came out and picked up the baby. His cries had alarmed her, and gentle and forgiving Clarice took the baby in her care, hiring a wet nurse to ease the babies appetite. There was no further conversation about that night since then, the child would stay and her words were final.

News of the Hughes household acquiring a baby when Clarice had recently been deemed unable to give birth to a baby swept the area. Clarice named him Gillian, and cared for him as if he were her own son while Aaron, his true father never took one ounce of care in his upbringing. The comments of Gillian being the son of another woman died away after a few years but the infornation was still known. At the young age of three, Gillian became an older brother, Clarice and Aaron had a miracle son of their own, they named him Harrison and he was Aaron's pride and joy.

The two boys grew up in the same house, but their lives were very different. Harrison recieved proper schooling while Gillian snuck books in to learn how to read and write. Gillian acquired skills by his own methods, watching his younger brother take lessons in fighting and sword play. He practised on his own and at times, his brother was able to sneak away and keep him company. Despite the seperation that their father made evident, the two grew close and enjoyed each other's company, and looking out for each other. Harrison spoke of books and information he had recently acquired while Gillian explained part of the land he had recently ventured out to explore. The two shared their experiances but Harrison bore the weight of their father's expectations. Gillian, was merely a tool, someone that can be shown as an example of bad behavior and unruly conduct.

Gillian, all his life heard his father say one word over and over again and that was 'gauntlet.' It was an important matter that he wished Gillian's brother would enter and esteem the Hughes name to a greater level of respect and wealth. The race was pushed off for years, even when Harrison was at the age requirement, he still wasn’t given permission by their father to enter. Suddenly, at the age of nineteen Aaron, their father, commanded for Harrison to enter into the academy and risk his life to become a Guardian. Gillian couldn’t believe it, his younger brother who cared more for books and less for violence was to enter into a possible death race. Their father's words were law, and their mother couldn't offer her opinion on the matter. Gillian however, was forbidden to enter, what did his father fear, that Gillian would win and he would have to see him as a son? He didn't care for his approval, he entered the academy, sending his application along with Harrison's. If he was to enter, it would only be to keep his brother safe, and train him to withstand the race, enough for them both not to die.

Reason for Entering the Gauntlet There is only one reason, to keep his brother and himself alive. The end reward doesn’t matter, he doesn't even care if he is recognized for his skill. As long as Harrison is still standing on his two feet by the end of this, then that's all that matters.

Despite growing up in a household where his very existence was frowned upon, Gillian understands and listens to others well. He isn't the jealous type, and is satisfied with what he is given. He speaks up only when truly necessary but won't turn and run if a punch is thrown his way. But, his brother, Harrison has always been there to stop things from getting too out of hand. Honestly, if it wasn't for him, Gillian wouldn't be who he is today, his brother is his support, porbably the only person who believes and accepts him. Gillian is respectable but head strong. His weaknesses lies in his hidden forgiving nature and willingness to do anything, even something life threatening in order to keep those he cares about alive. Secretly curious about the world, and a bit of an adventure seeker, but his upbringing keeps his intelligence at a lower standerd when it comes to academics.

As for an element that he possess, Gillian does not even know. The idea of having an elemental magic is a new subject to him that he has never explored. Perhaps his brother may know more on that topic but even if Gillian forever remained without an element, he would live without any regrets.

also based on your history, this is kind of what I have for ideas for him

- Dad pressured him too much, and though he knows Gillian has the shittier of situations, he sometimes wishes he could switch him, just to escape the pressure. He constantly feels like a disappoint to his father, and though he has a great relationship with Gillian, he is sometimes jealous of his natural-born skill.
- Harrison has had the privilege of expensive tutors, schooling, and training -- yet he's still barely scraping above average, and he's trying very hard just to maintain that level of consistency. Nothing has ever been easy for him, though he's not stupid, things are just difficult for him to master, and it has always been a very frustration learning process for him.
- One of the most helpful things to Harrison's training was Gillian himself. Harrison would always try to show Gillian what he had learned in his lessons for that day, and in reviewing that knowledge with Gillian's natural skill and perception, that's really what cinched it for Harrison.
- Harrison loved his mom, and low key has always appreciated her for accepting Gillian.
- He's only competing because his father wishes him to. He's good with logic sometimes, in his own unorthodox way, but he's definitely no A1 Athlete.

I love how each of the brothers wish they could have a skill that the other possess. Kind of like, Gillian doesn't really know how his life is a bit easier than Harrison's due to the weighted expectation on Harrison's shoulders.

- Dad pressured him too much, and though he knows Gillian has the shittier of situations, he sometimes wishes he could switch him, just to escape the pressure. He constantly feels like a disappoint to his father, and though he has a great relationship with Gillian, he is sometimes jealous of his natural-born skill.
- Harrison has had the privilege of expensive tutors, schooling, and training -- yet he's still barely scraping above average, and he's trying very hard just to maintain that level of consistency. Nothing has ever been easy for him, though he's not stupid, things are just difficult for him to master, and it has always been a very frustration learning process for him.
- One of the most helpful things to Harrison's training was Gillian himself. Harrison would always try to show Gillian what he had learned in his lessons for that day, and in reviewing that knowledge with Gillian's natural skill and perception, that's really what cinched it for Harrison.
- Harrison loved his mom, and low key has always appreciated her for accepting Gillian.
- He's only competing because his father wishes him to. He's good with logic sometimes, in his own unorthodox way, but he's definitely no A1 Athlete.

History
With seven brothers and sisters, Emmalee grew up in a very crowded house and knew that she would eventually have to get out and be on her own. He family was good to her but at the same time she knew that eventually she would have to leave them and start her own life. But she ended up getting signed up for the gauntlet since she wanted to prove to her family that she is capable of more than average even though she is not entirely sure of her abilities. She didn't know why but she felt like she had something to prove to them and the world.

Personality
Emmalee is a pretty outgoing person. She doesn't like to hold grudges but can get angry when people say or do stupid things. She loves to make people laugh and feels that that is one of her strong points. She is very social but does occasionally like to have some alone time since she knows that taking care of yourself is important. She is very open minded for the most part and is usually pretty good about making conversation.
