I have been searching for this book for the longest time. I read it back in the 8th grade and I'm now a freshman in college. I remember bits and pieces but I can't remember anything that will help find it on search websites. I can try my best to describe it.

The book is about a foster girl that is waiting for her mother to come back and get her. The girl does not have the best grammar so it's written as if she has dropped out of school early. The girl and her best friend like to sneak bread and sugar and ball the bread up and cover it in sugar. The boy gets adopted and leaves the girl by herself at the foster home. She runs away to try and find her friend. At one point in the book she gets in a band into drugs I think. She gets raped and ends up pregnant. She does not give birth to the baby in a hospital. In the end she finds her friend but doesn't go up to the house she just watches through the window and decides to not burden his life with the baby and herself.

I hope this helps someone find the book. I am dying to find it and read it again. Please help. Thank you.
