Paiga | 2 comments I think I read this around 5th grade (around 2010). The manga doesn't have your typical Japanese animation (different drawing style), but is still set up as a manga. I think I remember that the book starts with siblings? that open a doorway or something to an alternate universe (that is not like modern times, kinda like a old dystopia with other species than humans). Somehow they become heroes in that universe, form a group, and the rest of the series is them trying to gather stuff to defeat this enemy. I think the main character is a young person with brown hair in bangs? I think there was 4 or more books to the series.

Sorry I know this is really vague. Though I know this book exists because when I was trying to see if my sister remembers the book series, she knew what I was talking about when I mentioned how I think that one of the side characters was similar to a robot. Sadly, she didn't remember the series name either.

The Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi? https://www.goodreads.com/series/5204...

Paiga, perhaps your books are graphic novels.

Can you tell us more about the siblings - how many (you mention a group), female and/or male, ages, etc.? What special powers do they have in the alternate universe?

Paiga | 2 comments Omg it is that book. Thank you so much!
Sorry that I mixed up graphic novel with manga, my memory was really fuzzy.

Great! That was a bit of a guess. The first book in the Amulet series is The Stonekeeper.
