Billee | 26 comments So I read this book when I was really young. It is either childrens or young adult, and it is a series. In the beginning, there is a girl who really likes to draw, and is saving up money to buy colored pencils. Pretty much everything is grey, and colored things are really expensive. Later in the book, they find out that the leader/mayor figure is hoarding large supplies of food, even though everyone is dirt poor. I think one of the books has the word jewel in it, maybe. I'm sorry that this is really vague, but this was a really long time ago. If you think you know anything, please help! Thanks!

Billee | 26 comments You were right, Rosa, it was the City of Ember series. I am really disappointed though, it wasn't as good as I remembered it being. Thank you so much for the help.
