Katie wrote: "Does a drawing of a candle count for option 3?
"Yes, Katie, that works as the candle is lit with a noticeable flame.
Boston Kate wrote: "Does this work for Option 3:
(his sword is on fire)"
Absolutely. I can clearly see the flame surrounding the sword. Enjoy.
It's obvious that there's fire in the background of this picture, but I just want to be sure that there is enough actual flame visible, as it's mostly an orange glow.

"Looks like the whole area is on fire. It works.
Cathy wrote: "Will this work for flames even though they are mostly blue?
"Blue flames are still flames. Happy reading!
Would
work for option 3? I believe there are flames above the building (best seen behind the statues arm not holding the discus). Thank you (sorry if it's obvious, I don't always trust myself with cover tasks).
Kait wrote: "Would

Maya wrote: "
Is flame from a dragon's mouth acceptable? Not sure if it was the kind of flame you were meaning"
Yes, Maya, those flames work just fine.
Please could I check if this will work for option two (set in France)?Boulting's Velosaurus: A Linguistic Tour de France
It's a non-fiction book about the Tour de France so it's describing events which take place in France but I wasn't sure if the task is looking for a work of fiction set in France?
Bryony wrote: "Please could I check if this will work for option two (set in France)?Boulting's Velosaurus: A Linguistic Tour de France

This won't work, Bryony, because the book is about the terminology used in the Tour de France. If it was a story (fiction or non-fiction) about an actual bike race taking place in France, that would have been acceptable. Sorry.
Thanks Amy. Would this be okay then? It's about a specific edition of the race so it's describing events that took place in France.101 Damnations: Dispatches from the 101st Tour de France

This one seems okay to me. Happy reading!

Maya wrote: "Amy, what is your opinion on this one? Flames or no? I can't quite tell myself
"I can't tell either so I asked one of the mods to weigh in. She was also undecided and said it could possibly be lava. Since we can't definitively say there are flames, I'll have to say no to this one. :-(

That's fine! I got 50/50 answers on my own asking, so I'm glad to have a definite direction. Thanks Amy!
Bellagbear wrote: "Hello,is magical fire also oke for option 3?

thanks :)"
I wasn't sure about this one so I got a second opinion from one of the mods. The stream coming out of her left hand could be light or fire, but in her right hand it looks more like fire. I'll give this the okay. Enjoy! :-)

For option 2, this is the first time I've read a book that doesn't have the setting listed in Goodreads. Lingus takes place in Miami, Florida. This book review is the only thing I've found that references the location at all - will that suffice?
If not, and I have to use a quote from the book, is this one clear enough to indication setting: "It was my birthday and then in no time, we were flying out of Miami to Vegas for the wedding."

Moderator's note - that sentence, by itself, would suggest to me that the book takes place in Las Vegas, rather than in Florida and would not indicate to me that it takes place at least 50% in Florida.

I don't know that the book has any usable quotes, in that case, so I guess I'll need to find another place for it.

I wasn't sure what to do with this one and was going to research further today. Appreciate you handling it on my behalf. :-)

I’m an avid sports fan and spring is when some of my favorite players/teams are either gearing up, entering playoffs, or participating in highly competitive tournaments.
Here are three options in honor of my serious addiction; please choose one of these and read ONE book.
Required: Indicate the option.
1. Baseball season is just around the corner but for those wanting to get an early start, there are spring training games to enjoy. They are divided between Arizona (cactus league) and Florida (grapefruit league). Since I live in Florida, please read a book written by a single author whose first and last name initials can be found in the phrase “GRAPEFRUIT LEAGUE.” Letters can only be used as many times as they appear and middle initials may be ignored.
2. I love tennis and will be attending the Miami Open later this month. In May the French Open will be played in Paris (wish I was going there too!). Read a book that takes place in Florida or France. At least 50% of the book must be set in either of those locations.
Required: If the setting is not evident on the book's main page include a reference or quote from the book when you post.
3. Basketball season is heading into the playoffs and my favorite team, the Miami Heat, is trying to earn a spot. Read a book with a cover that shows a flame (bonfire, lit candle, etc.).
Required:If you choose this option you must show the cover when claiming points for this task.
