Thanks for making me read this, I absolutely adored this book. I love her understated writing and the way she effortlessly handles jumping timelines and narration from various points of view. I am going to go out and get all her books, what a fantastic read, I could not put it down.
I finished last night! I really enjoyed reading this, and found myself thinking about if this was reality what would I do in order to survive? Could I survive since I'm so used to being able to turn on the faucet and get water, flip a switch and get electricity, and I don't know how to hunt! This was my first apocalyptic novel, and I'm glad I read it!As far as the ending....I seriously couldn't remember how it ended this morning!
I just finished and I have to say I really enjoyed the book, I am not sure exactly how I feel about the ending still pondering over that. I think it was definitely wrapped up and the author explained to you what happened to everyone. I guess I just thought there would be more. I don't know, maybe something sci-fi ish or paranormal. But I do have to say I am really glad I read this. I think Kirsten was such a great character and such a strong person, a survivor. So many of the characters made ;you want to root for them and then there were those few that you just wanted to see get there's Thanks again Krista for this group read love doing these.
Well, that ending was really quiet, but filled with hope, which was a nice change from the desperation of much of the rest of the story. Wendy, I also felt I wanted more at first, but the more I think of it the more I like the ending.
I was really impressed with this book. It captivated me from the beginning and never let me go! I wasn't prepared for the creepy vibes I felt for the first 2/3 of the book, but I totally loved them! haha. The beautiful writing was a stark contrast to the brutality and harshness of surviving after a plague like that. I really enjoyed every moment!
Can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks!

I had picked this up a long time ago to read and didn't do it for some reason. I really liked it! I was a little confused through the beginning, and usually do not love books that go back and forth in time. This one was done very well though. I was rooting for everyone to make it.
I have finished it to. I enjoyed this book a lot.....more than I ever thought I would. The author's writing was perfect in my eyes. You could really visual every page of the book as you were reading.I am with you Krista, I wanted more at the ending. I think it just felt flat for me. But it was cool how it all came together and made so much sense.
Now, I am excited to read next month's book with all of you.
I read this a while ago and really enjoyed it. I loved the writing and how it placed you in the setting and that time. I remember snippets of the characters but am not sure I completely remember the end.?? Ahhh!! I may need to go back and reread it.
I just finished reading this book. Wow! It was very different from what I thought this book was about, but in a good way. I agree with Krista in that I liked that the ending had hope compared to the despair throughout the book.
I'm glad we read this book as a group because I don't know if I would have picked it up otherwise. I'm looking forward to next month's book now! :)

Yes, I agree with you, Becky. If we hadn't read this as a group I would never have read this book. I would have really missed out on a great read.
